Very happy to say the whole family got the Omnicron variant and now have immunity for a while. Looking forward to attending some concerts and going out mask free. Felt like a mild flu for two days, then was completely over it after 4 days. Our one year old's temperature did spike for a few days but was able to manage it with Tylenol.
I imagine it's the contagiousness of Omi pleading a case of quantity over quality. Wonder how that affects herd immunity. I'd normally assume the count is cumulative, with both vaccinated and post-infected, but the way Omi has worked, it seems like it's in its own circle on the good ol Venn Diagram. Given how relatively fast the sucker mutates, I'm not even sure the length of immunity will last beyond 6 months. Who tf wants to take 3-4 boosters a year? Yay me!!!
Do you know of any charts showing total US hospitalization? I can never seem to find one, only thing that pops up is COVID hospitalizations. If total hospitalizations are higher now then the previous waves I think that would say more.
More propaganda to scare the already scared rabbits in here. Give it a rest man, it is over. Go live your life and quit obsessing so much about this virus. We are lucky this time, maybe it’s a trial run from those damned CCP bastards, but we may not get off that easily when the next one hits. If you really want to do a service to your fellow Americans, go after these commie bastards with all of your efforts like the ways you’ve been doing with this virus.
This is like music to my ears. Only you and your family can decide when this pandemic is going to end. Go and live your life.
Im seeing hospitalized patients with confirmed COVID 19 on that graph, unless I’m looking at the wrong thing. Im curious if there are any live counts of total hospitalized people within the county, COVID + non COVID related hospitalizations.
Oh, not sure for non-covid. I’ve seen that locally (hospital chains in houston area) but haven’t ever looked for it nationally or at state level EDIT: I lied, saw this before - Weekly Hospitalization Trends - Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center (jhu.edu)
Sorry, I must have been in a rush. I should have added a "Can you" and question mark at the end. Your post makes sense. ;-)
That sounds like the Liberal vantage point of "White Genocide"... Similar symptoms, drastically different root causes. I mean this whole attitude of questioning truth and authority heavily correlates to the stagnation of the lower working classes. Media and expert economists claim the Economy is Great, all while the disaffected is relegated to "Flyover status". It's like they don't even count anymore and are more statistical outliers to the real breadwinners. We really landed in a bizarro world with Bush's election. It wasn't peaches and cream for Rust Belt folks during Clinton. Clinton arguably stuck a knife in labor's back with his neoliberal New Economy policies, but Bush really drove it in deeper then looked away at any financial white collar shenanigans that eventually defrauded blue collar and the American taxpayer future generations worth of prosperity. I don't think The White Folk were looking for entitlements or extra benefits when things started fizzing. Red states doubled down on stupid, thinking that deregulation and low corporate taxes would make them the cream of the crop in their wholesale pursuit to the Race to the Bottom. Businesses still chose California because of its higher education, infrastructure, quality of employees, and healthcare standards despite the tax gouging and "oppressive regulation". It's sad Red Staters bought into the lie to preserve a dignity now lost to opioids, but their story is slowly creeping across urban America as more Americans become more reliant on aid such as Earned Income Tax Credits and SNAP food assistance. Without digitization and credit cards, these would be physical lines wrapped around buildings. We are all trying to grasp a new reality where the future isn't clear and our standing in the world isn't necessarily the top across all standards. The discourse and the situation should be much better, but scarcity and wealth inequality breeds hoarding and resentment. Stepping on the backs of others isn't that bad if you can flaunt swag on social media. We also live in a rule of law where the top aren't prosecuted and circumventing the system can also be praised for "genius level" thinking. It's gonna take a lot of steps before we gtfo this mess.
