Lol 70,000 healthcare workers in NY alone refused to get this ****. Hundreds of thousands have refused throughout the country, guess they’re all dumb trump supporters? I have had coved. Dam near everyone in my family has had COVID. Everyone that I work with have had it. Most of my friends have had it. NO ONE, NOT ONE OF THEM have had any issues. Hell my father got it and he’s 79. No problems. My mother got the maderna vax and has had all kinds of issues. Most of the deaths from COVID are from elderly or obese or people with pre-existing conditions. It’s rare for a healthy person to die. Again all the pro vaxxers won’t answer the question, doesn’t it concern you that their not keeping up with adverse effects and deaths on Vears? Why aren’t they? And every time there is a new drug mentioned they knock it down like it’s some conspiracy theory. Yet it’s ok for them and their families to take it and it’s ok for them and their families to not be mandated to take the vaccine. What an absolutely stupid post. Over 700,000 dead and guys like you still scoff at the seriousness of Covid. It's disgusting. Consider yourself lucky you are still alive. I won't debate this anymore with you. You aren't worth my time.
Some of these people are extremely bought into something and cannot let it go no matter what. They somehow became so invested in it that they have to believe. They are usually pretty bright people that have a great ability to rationalize. This psychological effect isn't new. I have a relative that is like this. I just don't talk about covid with her. It's just a waste of our time. Better spent on other things. But these people are still a very small minority. Though we still have ~15-20% with covid vax hesitancy, most aren't so tied up. I feel it's not a waste to thoughtfully answers these people concerns.

Hmm, I wonder if there is a medical reason? Kidneys are scarce, people who aren’t vaccinated — particularly immunocompromised or otherwise high risk … like folks who need or get a kidney — are more likely to die or get seriously ill, so maybe they don’t want to waste a kidney? Or they don’t want unvaccinated people carrying delta variant into a kidney transplant procedure? I hate to inject any reason into any of this though.
The waitlist for Kidney transplant in the US is 90k+. Covid fatality rate for transplant patient is 20%. No one will escape exposure to this virus. Transplant patient faces a higher risk of exposure (hospitals). We should stop giving out vaccines in the US to 18+ and let the developing world get the vaccines instead. More people are getting boosters than first doses.

Uhhh yea. Look at the guidelines for transplant. Organs are valuable, the immunosuppressive medications you take for life are way worse than a benign vaccine against a deadly illness…so yea it being a requirement is no brainer
I have a good friend who is on the waiting list for a kidney transplant. She's fully vaccinated and also doing things like bringing her BMI down to get in better shape for the transplant. She has to be ready with 18 hours notice to get to the Mayo Clinic if a kidney get's available. I would hope that someone like my friend who is doing everything she can to not only receive the transplant but make sure her body can handle the transplant and live a full life after is prioritized over someone who doesn't.
