The most dangerous people are those who don’t know what they don’t know and blindly spew out their misguided “knowledge.”
I was a Republican most of my life until Trump and the new breed of radical traitors stopped at nothing to spread lies and propaganda and led millions to gather maskless as a unity for Trump. All his rallies were hundreds of fools screaming Covid is a hoax and masks don't work. It disgusted me to no end. Almost everyone I know who got Covid refused to isolate or wear masks. Not everyone, but most. I can't speak for the blacks and Hispanics you quote, but there are lots of Hispanics who like Trump. Regardless, I find it sad that so many are dying from what they believe is no threat to them or their family. Maybe they actually believed that Covid is just like a flu. I've heard more healthcare workers than I can stomach listening to pleasing for people to mask up and vaccinate as they watched people die. I'm sure there are concerns for long-term effects with anything, but it just seems smarter to me to worry more about dying, your spouse or family members dying, than possible effects down the road. Also, there may be long-term effects from living through Covid as well. I have a cousin who has been hospitalized twice since Covid. Also, you have to realize there are many hard core Trumpers who are nurses. I have 3 cousins who are all nurses and Pro Trump. All 3 got Covid and all 3 we're lucky they had minor effects. They all hung out maskless with friends during the height of the pandemic, even though they were supposed to protect the ill and fragile.
Norway's vaccination percentage is also significantly higher even without vaccine mandates or passport at 75% of population fully vaccinated vs the US's 57%.
Norway also still has travel restrictions and as of the moment doesn't allow visitors from many countries including the US.
I was just talking to my dad in HK and was trying to explain to him why there is so much resistance to vaccines. I couldn't give him an answer that made sense.
This has been stated before but like everything else needs to be repeated. COVID-19 is a novel virus, which means we have no idea the long term effects of it. We do know for a fact that many who are infected already suffer ongoing symptoms. I personally know two in their 30's who are "long haulers". Yes the vaccines are new also but they are based upon science that has existed for decades. They have been in wide circulation for about 11 months with more than a billion taking with very very VERY few severe side effects. For any given person there is as much of a chance of being eaten by a shark than there is of dying from the vaccine.
From the actual article used as the source: Funny how Townhall didn't bother to include his stated reason for why his daughter hasn't yet gotten it.
