The damage he caused "was estimated to be between $8,000 and $11,000," police said. Initially, it appeared that the 57 vials of the Moderna vaccine — which must be kept between 36 and 46 degrees Fahrenheit — had been left out overnight accidentally, hospital officials said. Each vial holds approximately 10 doses of the vaccine. But Wednesday, the Aurora Medical Center announced the hospital worker involved "acknowledged that they intentionally removed the vaccine from refrigeration." "This was a violation of our core values." The Moderna vaccine has a 12-hour window once it has been thawed. Most doses of the vaccine that had been left out of the pharmacy refrigerator had to be discarded, although hospital officials later believed they could salvage some. After the hospital administered more than 50 doses of the vaccines that had been thawed, it learned the shots had actually been thawed twice, rendering them ineffective, a hospital official said Thursday at a press conference. The hospital said all those who received an ineffective vaccination have been notified and that those individuals are not at risk. News of the spoiled vaccine doses in Wisconsin comes as the United States struggles to meet its goals for vaccination. So far, only about 2.8 million people have been vaccinated, far short of the 20 million the Trump administration had hoped for by year-end. The vaccine is not yet widely available, and health care workers and nursing home residents have priority for the first doses. On Wednesday, Advocate Aurora Health, the health system that Aurora Medical Center is part of, said it has vaccinated more than 21,000 health care workers so far. I got it on the 19th from either a mostly empty movie theatre that we rented for a kids bday party or at the restaurant after where I sat outside and only went inside to go to the bathroom with a mask on. My thinking is it was the movie theater that was gross. I fell asleep during the movie so was probably taking deep breathes with my mouth. Two of the people with us also got it on the same timeline. I think there’s something to the virus getting aerosolized in certain buildings that have bad ventilation or don’t keep up with proper standards. My non professional advice is to stay out of old buildings that don’t seem taken care of that well. Oddly enough I don’t think I’ve infected anyone in my home (knock on wood) or when I was in the Homes of two others when I didn’t know I had Covid and was being told to not F up Christmas plans just because I had a little cold. I wouldn’t step foot in a restaurant unless it’s open air and I could avoid going into a restroom where you probably need serious PPE in.

We should run a poll to see how here has had it and what it's been like. In my family, everything has been cancelled. Birthdays... cancelled. Dinners out... cancelled. Movies out... cancelled. Anything that doesn't take place in our home or in a well ventilated outdoor space... cancelled. Trips to the grocery store are once a week, early as possible on Sunday which through trial and error I've determined is the least busiest time of the week and the most well stocked time of the week. I thought about doing the curbside thing but I like picking out my own produce and meats. Whenever I get back from the store I change my clothes and wash them. We do takeout but everything gets wiped down before anyone gets into it. It has worked so far but I have to admit it's taking at toll, just mentally being always on guard and not being able to go anywhere.
Or no one will die and he may have actually saved lives. Which makes me out to be not so bad after all.
