CV-19 mutated in Europe in March and became more contagious. And then infect the US east coast. This makes me so mad. Next time, that I am walking down the street and I see a person of European decent I think I will give them the what-for. Who is with me? Covid-19 mutated into a more contagious strain, according to study
the two deadliest policy decisions of this crisis has been NY sending recovered COVID patients back into nursing homes and allowing unrestricted access to NYC subway system yet Cuomo is hailed by media as a leader to be emulated
The deadliest decision of this crisis was being briefed in January and not acting until well into March. How many thousands of Americans would have been saved if the steps taken in March were taken in January, or even February. But sure... focus on blaming a state Governor...especially one that has been hailed as a leader in the vacuum caused by trump's inaction.
That's not suspicious at all. Where are my PPE that actually does what its intended to do? Where is my available testing? But that isn't going immediately to save my life or sign my paychecks! WHO GIVES A ****??
It's a little early to put any crown on New York as, unfortunately, cases continue rising quickly in other states. Even in snapshot, the federal government not being responsive to the clear data in January is the single largest deadly policy decision for our country. Blame whoever you like, but the federal government failed us. I would mainly blame the executive branch which had made questionable appointments, disassembled teams, and ignored warnings. But I think we also have to blame those in Congress who received briefings and decided to not work overtime on our behalf (instead, in some cases, making key personal stock trades).
Gee, if there was only a national leader with the authority to order business to produce things like PPE and test kits and supplies.
Abbott: 427,210 tested 33,369 positive 15,672 active 1,888 hospitalizations 906 fatalities 16,791 recovered 19,000+ hospital beds available 2,000+ ICU beds 6,600 ventilators available
Abbott: Texas fully capable of handling healthcare needs for COVID19 Texas not facing challenges like New York, New Orleans, where they were scrambling to amass the resources Essential businesses can operate while slowing the spread We can open (other) businesses if we follow same strategies those essential businesses were using Clarifications/Modifications to Executive Order: For Funerals/Memorials/Burials/Weddings, treated as church services; recommend designating an area for at-risk population; alternating rows, area of six feet spacing between parties For weddings, at receptions, same type of practices used with regard to restaurants For parks, beaches, lakes, rivers, river-rafting: same standard as parks - 6 feet separation when possible; may not exceed 5 Restaurants: 25% applies to indoor seating; If seating is outdoor, same distancing required as for indoor seating May 8th(Friday) Cosmetology, nail, hair salons able to open; 1 customer per stylist unless waiting for service; can wait inside if 6 feet away from others, otherwise outside or in vehicle; recommend appointment only 25% capacity for gym component; there are some gym businesses where they don't do so in a gym; they may do so outside; if outside you can't have 25% capacity; maintain distancing Gyms: for initial time period, showers & locker rooms must remain close All equipment disinfected after each use; customers should use gloves cover whole hand and fingers; must maintain 6 feet inside a gym; Bars: Still working on safe ways for safe distancing at bars; Bars bring people close together in a setting that promotes infectious diseases; want to hear from bars about strategies Non-essential manufacturers can open May 18th with 25% occupancy limit Office buildings can open May 18th; greater of 5 employees or 25% provided employees maintain social distancing Surge response teams will deal with flare-ups.
Texas is being led by someone that cares about money first, and it’s infuriating. Between last Thursday and Sunday, Texas averaged more than 1,000 new daily COVID-19 cases. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcdfw.com/news/coronavirus/for-fourth-straight-day-texas-surpasses-1000-new-cases/2362536/?amp Going a step further, Saturday’s total was the second-highest daily total for the state. https://www.kvue.com/mobile/article...riod/269-fdf0df61-93c2-45b5-ae42-3cb7b1ab8767 So, within the first three days of the state partially reopening, cases immediately spike over 1,000 per day, and, yet, Abbott is continuing to not follow the CDC guidelines for reopening and is even allowing other businesses (hair salons, nail salons, tanning salons) to reopen earlier than he said they would five days ago. All of this so people can go spend money on things they can easily live without or do at home in the short term. (haircuts, pedicures, manicures or tanning)
(Didn't hear the question but basically how do you justify opening up?) Talked personally to Dr. Birx, Dr. Fauci, Mark McCllelan, Dr. Parker Hudson, Dr. Hellerstedt, John Zerwas, I'll put their advice up against anyone else Plan I announced was looked at by Dr. Birx and said this is a great plan. Dr. Birx herself & others have said it. Just like experts said Texas was gonna have all these massive deaths, never turned out to be true. Operating based on numbers we've had & trajectory looks good; satisfies White House advisors and the 4 doctors I rely on. Leaked audio call? As society opens up, could lead to increase in infections. Why we have this surge team in place. We'll be able to quickly respond. If you look at where we are now, able to maintain that response, shouldn't have any challenge. Recommendation made by Dr. Birx: was talking about importance of opening up education in upcoming fall year. This suggestion to just consider: open up earlier than normal and longer period of time for closure for winter break with concern/anticipation of common flu or common flu with COVID, may need longer winter break.
It’s not just New York, it’s everywhere genius. Where should they go for skilled nursing, wound care etc?
Montgomery County numbers continue to rise: Conroe detention facility reports 14 COVID-19 cases; Montgomery County total reaches 662 https://www.yourconroenews.com/neig...4-COVID-19-15248900.php?utm_campaign=hcnfeeds
