I took my classes to MMP today for a tour. I layed some bad karma in the Visitors dugout when we went in. I passed a lot of gas and then used the phone to place an order for a large pizza with extra anchoivies. In actuality the tour was pretty fun and we did get to see some neat stuff. Oh and I wasn't kidding about the passing gas part either.

I just saw Luis Gonzalez at the Galleria (sorry i dont take a camera with me everywhere i go) was pickin up some shoes and saw him walk out of LaCoste. I went up to him and i told him that i used to love watchin him play in a stros uniform and i can remember when i was younger waiting outside the dome he would take time to autograph somethin for every kid that was out there. He said thanks man and that it was nice to meet me and all that kind of stuff, real nice guy i wouldnt mind seein him in a stros uniform again.

Phil Garner has to be one of the dumbest managers in baseball. He continues to put Jason Lane in when Orlando Palmerio has been one the best Astros hitters. He also doesn't start Todd Self at 1st instead on Lamb and Self just hit a pinch homer. Earlier in the game in the 4th inning, the Astros had men at 1st and 2nd and he refused to pinch hit for Andy when it was obvious didn't have his good stuff. Then he makes Morgan Ensberg steal bases when its obvious he isn't. I hope the fire Phil and hire Tony Pena.

Palmeiro is playing today, not Lane.

People here have been yelling that Lamb should be in the everyday line up since spring training, now you want him to sit for a guy we just called up to the majors, with hardly any pop in his bat? Yeah, he hit a homer today, but his numbers from his minor career show that he has little power.

How do you know Garner made Ensberg to steal? Alot of times in the majors guys are given the green light to run, maybe it was Morgan's decision.

Why do you give a guy like Ensberg the green light? Todd Self kind of reminds me of Lyle Overbay with his minor league numbers. Mike Lamb is in a slump right now so maybe give him a couple of days off to work on his hitting in the batting cage. I don't know if Jason Lane is in a slump or is this the real him because he really hasn't proved anything at this level.

Ensberg hustles down the line to keep us alive.

    Come on Lamb!

Lamb draws the walk. Everett up with the bases loaded, two outs.

Ugh! Everett hits a screamer to Glaus at third to end the game. Man, he ripped that ball.

Jeremy Reed had a beautiful slide at 3b tonight on a triple. Check it out. He switched hands on the slide. About as good as it gets.

Really felt like they were going to win that game last night. Everett couldn't have hit it any harder. You wonder if that was a real confidence boosting game even though they lost. They still haven't had a comback after the 6th all season and have a horrible 1-run game record. However, that wasn't your typical 1-run loss and it was nice to see the ability to score some runs and at least make it interesting.

If it's possible, that was a good loss.

I agree. Did anyone notice the dugout during the inning? They were pumped up and very much into it...something that hasn't been there this season.

I think we're headed in the right direction. Go Roger!!!!

    Have I said this before?

    SCREW COX CABLE!

Last night we had to watch it at Buffalo Wild Wings, and man...that was a heart breaker.

Oh yeah, WHO the HELL is Self?! That was a nice HR last night.

Is there anything left to be said? We didn't come up with a clutch win and wasted away our chances yet again. Adam Everett is the worst person to have at the plate in a situation where you need to score some runs late. Every time he's up and every time he blows it...like tonite...and the other nite....and the nite before that. But, I'm still praying for him. It's just a game, Adam. Hit the freaking ball and try not to hit it at someone! The third baseman is not your friend, Adam. :p

Anyway, the last few games have been pretty disappointing. I think watching both Andy and Roger lose put us back on the losing rollercoaster ride. There is some hope, though. Ausmus is swinging the bat better. Berkman is showing some signs of coming on. Lane even had a hit or two recently. We're still not getting it done on the road, though. The projections for the season on the road are 9-72 or something. Yikes.

With as bad as Pettitte was pitching the other night, the "comeback" by our guys was very promising....but then this again.

It makes it that much harder for me to follow the team when COX doesn't pick up all the FSSW games....they show poker instead!
