You have chosen to believe yet ANOTHER lie. Democrats had a supermajority for six weeks, between Franken's recount finishing up and Kennedy's death.

I would love for you to support your contention that Democrats were as obstructionist with Bush as Republicans have been for Obama. You don't have to look at the filibuster since that example destroys your narrative (which it does), you could also look at judicial appointments.

    so many excuses from you

bottom line is that Obama is either incapable or just too lazy to work across the aisle

Ignorant. They actually had a supermajority for much less than that.

I'm one of the makers that voted for Obama after voting for McCain in 08. The republicans are just too racist for me. Especially reading the stuff you have been posting all these years, I would hate to think I helped a racist republican win an election and all his racist followers jumping for joy.

Remember that flopping fish at the end of the Faith No More song Epic?

Envision that image when reading basso and bigtaxxx posts.

Just that image of the flopping fish. Gasping...flailing...flopping...

    Always makes me smile.

You're reading too many Facebook posts from winger friends. Congress has the same health care choices as federal workers. The same, not more.

    http://www.factcheck.org/2009/08/health-care-for-members-of-congress/

There is nothing that allows members or their family to not pay back student loans. Nothing.

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/studentloans.asp

As to your other points, like anything else involving humans and their motivations, there's a lot of gray when looking at Congress. When I worked up there, you would encounter pols who would get fired up about a cause but never followed through with action. You also had folks who were focused on one or two things and would cut all kinds of deals in the hope that it would advance their cause. And you also had a fair number of narcissistic assholes who only cared about themselves. There are good people in Congress, it's just that a lot of the assholes try to sound like good people that it makes it tough to find them.

    Like never.

The most Senators was, IIRC, 58 when you need 60 to block a filibuster.

That makes it even more pathetic because they couldn't even get just one moderate to cross the line.

Also, Kennedy's death was still filibusterer proof. Cloture involves 3/5 of sitting Senators and 59 out of 99 still roughly 3/5.

Regardless of the length... they had filibuster proof for the first time in half a century and still didn't accomplish much.

I'm sorry that you see "facts" as "excuses," but it doesn't change the fact that y'all have thrown out YET ANOTHER LIE in an effort to try and discredit the President.

Anyone who believes the lack of aisle crossing is Obama's fault is either stupid enough that they allow themselves to be led by the nose like a sheep or is trying to be the shepherd. I know which category you believe you are in, but the funny part is, you are actually in the other group.

Yes, with the exception of the most sweeping healthcare reform since the '60s.
