Grief and emotion belongs to a team that plays with heart. There was no attachment for me with this team when they were that gutless all season. Stop playing that card.
I've heard stuff like that from Rockets fans and Texans fans. It's the same fans who wanted the Rockets to tank for the 9 seed, the same fans who were upset the Texans made the playoffs last year, the same fans who thought that the Colts would always win the division, the same fans that want Les and McNair to sell their teams. There's some pretty crazy fans out there that are very much over emotional.
Emotion only comes when you have expectations. I dont know how anyone could have expectations coming into the playoffs. Lets see who is actually thinking rational here.
You and everyone else had expectations at the start of the season and because of the team not even coming close to living up to them, you are clearly upset and not thinking clearly, blinded by grief. Almost every comment you make hammers home just how upset you are. It's okay, it could happen to anyone.
I never get too emotional with any team. Watching sports is recreational, I get annoyed when they lose but eh, I can go watch Game Of Thrones or do something else and forget about it. I have no expectations for Durant. If he joins us I'd be ecstatic. If he doesn't than oh well. I'm not and others are not saying he is joining 100% done deal. Just that there is certainly a scenario where he could join us. We are not the Sixers.
Because it just makes sense. Harden, Beasley, Dwight gone, new coach, team that's proven they can go deep in the playoffs, won't face pressure to be better than LeBron/best team in the east, won't be riding coat tails of GS & Spurs. It makes sense to me and I think all NBA fans deserve to see how Durant + Harden will do vs Durant + Westbrook.
Another offseason, more starchasing. Then sign more scraps after that star doesn't come. So sick of this. Why can't we just build a frickin team?
Yeah, it was a joke dude, since you keep saying "he'll sign here", i thought you must be him to be that sure
Durant is joining the Spurs, you can see this from a mile away: 1) If they lose to the Warriors, you can throw that riding coat tails argument out the window. It'll be seen as getting to the next level. 2) He's automatic alpha on the Spurs. Kawhi and Aldridge are the very definition of betas. It's a perfect fit. 3) He loves Pop already.
I just think there is VERY little chance of that, it would do terrible things for his legacy and he'd be viewed as nothing but a coat tail rider who couldn't do it as the main guy. They'd be the favorites to win several championships if he wants to be the Chris Bosh type guy though.
