I disagree that Westbrick is better than Harden, but that doesn't really matter because even if Durant does stay in OKC, Westbrick won't. He'll bolt to a big market team the second his contract is up and Durant will be sitting on a rebuilding team playing with himself. That's why he might pick the Rockets over the Thunder. I mean, the Rockets did just beat them this week.
Despite the narrative on morey, coaching does matter to him and my statement wasn't to say coaching doesn't matter at all to players. I think morey will have all sort of contingency plans. There's just too many moving parts at this point.
Things change baby. Rockets have Beasly and Harden plus one free agent Plus Durant. That's more than enough reasons from a basketball standpoint

I don't know if anything is happening. But signs do point to KD "taking a look around." Everyone is so quick to think KD can't leave OKC, they have a great team, take the 1+1 contract etc. But it sounds like KD is more than willing to look around. That is just the first hurdle....having him available, willing to leave. Feels a lot like how the LMA thing went down last year. Remember everyone was sure he would stay...and then things unfolded quickly.
KD definitely leaving, why can't people see he's not super sold on okc, he's an emotional player, he'll make an emotional decision, leave and sign with his Homies Harden and Beasly!
I wouldn't mind missing the playoffs too much, given the protection on the first-round pick and the team's minimal chances of post-season success. However, I worry that missing the playoffs might be the nail in the coffin for Houston's hopes to sign KD. If KD wants to win, would he consider a lottery team - even if it has Harden, the possibility of signing Horford/other max, and the chance to approve a new head coach? Same applies to Horford.
its not like making the playoffs winning 40 games is something to be proud of. I don't get what people make of thinking just making the playoffs is some difference maker given the circumstances they are in.
Just imagine how attractive a sign and trade for dwight to orlando for vucevic then signing horford and durant is? U got shooters on the floor. 5 of them. Harden would thrive bc he can stay the point guard. And bev can be the named point guard. Id have to see how salary works out tho. But i think it works Vucevic-11.7/ capela- 1.2 Horford-25 mill/trez rookie deal/ beas on min Durant-30 mill/ ariza 7.8!mill Harden-16 mill/kj 3 mill Bev-6 mill/vet min pg This adds up to 126.7 mill cap is for 89 so we have to cut 27 mill so i think we only have room for durant and vucevic
Need to add a few $$ for the stretch payout to Brewer as no one is taking that contract off our hands.
