Regardless, Dwight will have to make a decision this offseason, and the rest of the world will judge him based on whether he chooses money or a chance to win.

Unfortunately, neither of those options might lead him to stay in Houston.

He grew up in Washington, went to a college in Texas but that is all.

I don't think that is very important.

Harden and Beasley are the key aspects but I do not think anyone should form a superfriends team again

It's just wrong for other teams

So when durant signs, will ariza go to bench? jbb will sign extention, so you'd think ariza would move to pf.

Well I think the thing many are banking on (which is probably a long shot) is that for Durant it's not just about winning a championship. It's about being "the guy" on a championship team. If he came to Houston it would be his team. In GS or SA he ends up just being a ring chaser. People are banking on his pride.

No need to argue with that guy.

He's thinks Harden is the worst player in the game and should be coming off the bench.

Any real basketball mind with an objective sense can see that KD joining Harden and having enough money to sign another max contract is extreamly appealing, and that's not even getting into the fact that KD and Harden are for great friends who have played to together in OKC and team USA. Durant knows Hardens game better than any other superstar because he's seen him up close in person for 3 years and over the summers.

The fact the rockets can bring in a Tom thibbs and field a team the consists of

    Bev/JH/KD/Horford/Capela

    with a bench of

    Beasley/Goudelock/ariza/vet/vet

To just say KD would dismiss that roster is laughable.

Sure OKC is appealing so is GS but outsides of those two teams what team can offer a better spot thab Houston? The answer is No one.

And I wouldn't call playing more years with Westbrook and Ibaka with that roster better than what houston could offer. In fact I think there's a strong case that it's actually worse for KD in the short and longterm.

GS is nice if that's were he wants to go then nobody has a chance but I'm not sure KD wants to be the sure fire 2nd option on a team that he's only going to shoot at most 3/4 of the shots he getting now. It's a strong offer but it's also a lot different than what lebron did when he joined miami.

This excerpt below is from an article on the Celtics and them chasing Durant, but it FURTHER underscores what I had been previously saying regarding HORFORD AND DURANT.

Now, substitute the Celtics for the Rockets, who ALREADY have James Harden, and you can see the clear picture. Very similar to Lebron & Bosh joining wade.

Harden, Durant, Horford. Get it done Morey.

People are severely misremembering the past. Miami was a mediocre playoff team prior to the Heatles forming. What the Rockets do this year shouldn't mean much. What the Thunder do this year should mean something. What Durant thinks he could do with Harden and Horford means everything. He'd clearly be option 1A in Houston with Harden 1B and Horford 2. Add in the fact that Beasley, his best friend, would be here along with a very well rounded team, and I believe if he were to leave OKC we are the truly the only team that makes sense.

Joining Houston wouldn't weaken his legacy like a move to GSW would do. It just makes too much sense to come here if he were leave OKC (which I don't think he does quite yet).

Hopefully, they can convince Dwight to take minimum for a year to make it even better, then sign him to a supermax the year after, as incentive.

    Beverley / (Terry?)
    Harden / (Goudelock?)
    Durant / Ariza / Dekker
    Horford / Beasely / Harrell
    Howard / Capella

Under this ludicrous scenario, what would Dwight's cap hold be in the 2017 offseason? If it's anything less than $5 million, we could be recruit another star in that offseason as well.

Eh, Cap would have to take another major jump. Unlikely.

Chris Paul would be right about that age / place where he could jump ship.

Barkley will warn Dwight that Les will renege on this under the table deal.

If KD went to Boston with Horford, they would be an instant championship contender and become my favorite team in the EC.

No telling what Brad Stevens could do with that squad, especially if they kept Isiah Thomas and Avery Bradley.

Under this ludicrous scenario, Dwight's cap hold would be only $1,014,746. And the Rockets would have full Bird rights. They absolutely could add two stars this summer, then re-sign Dwight in 2017 to a "super-max" deal. Hell, they might even be able to add another decent-sized salary in 2017 on top of all that (although that's likely vault them well into luxury tax territory).

That said, as noted, this scenario is ludicrous for a reason. No way Dwight agrees to that. Nor should he be criticized for refusing to do so.

Well, I don't know what Dwights market looks like this summer. If the max anyone is willing to offer is say 3 years, 60 million, then a year of min, followed by 4 years, 120million, makes sense financially.

Of course there has to be a lot of trust, but if Dwight really wants to "make things work in Houston".....

a team does not simply become your favorite team because of a few acquisitions. you either have a favorite team [in the east] or you don't

New Durant's come in Rockets colorways. Durant 2 Houston must be a DONE DEAL.

Only downside - no new uniforms apparently.

    This!!!!

That starting 5 can hang with any team in the league and having KD by Harden side will reignite Harden to the MVP player he was a year ago...

KD will do wonders to Hardens offense and defense not to mention what Al Horford can bring to the table

I think Morey should set it up in a way that Horford and Durant come in on the same day and meet with Harden, Thibs, and Morey

it will be a done deal

    PS sorry dwight

I don't think Durant will want to come to Houston. It's definitely a team with superior ball movement to make the secondary half of his career easier.
