Why he hasn't already said that he's staying? It's not like he just need to think about 7 games of this season when he has to decide about is life for the next 4 years...
Who would right now pick OKC to win it all next year? They've shown weaknesses and will have to face GSW, Spurs and the rest of the West each playoffs.
Why hasn't he said he's staying? Gee, maybe because he's preparing to negotiate a new contract. Also, even if he does decide to leave OKC, that doesn't mean he's coming here. He's got plenty of options besides the Rockets.
Or maybe because he's thinking about it...like he said? I mean, it's ok to believe he's not coming here, and nobody is saying that he is coming btw...but please, just stop to acting like you know 100% he he's not coming, because you don't know. The differnce here is that some people are saying there's a chance, others are saying he's not coming 100%/i know for fact...which one between these two statments seems normal and logic for you? If you want to live the next days/weeks crying about how nobody will ever want to sign here because we don't have a superstar, no guys/players he knows, an organization similar to the Kings and on...fine, but just keep that negativity for you. You don't need to force others feel desperate like you, we already moved on from the past season.
Of course nobody knows if Durant is leaving OKC. Even he may not know right now. I'm just pointing out how it doesn't make much sense for him to choose the Rockets over not only OKC, but a bunch of other teams in the league. If his #1 goal is to contend for a title next season(and beyond), this is not even close to the best option. That's not my opinion. It's a fact.

It means we are going after Durant hard and we're going to be conservative if we don't get him. We're not going to blow out our future cap just to build a playoff team that can't win a championship.
Sam Presti [season ending press conference] Concern level a month out? When we signed Kevin to his extension 5 years ago, we knew he'd be a free agent at the end of that contract. We've done a good job focusing on the things we can control. Kevin deserves credit for the way he has handled his affairs. It allowed our team to focus on the season. Tremendous example of a franchise player putting the franchise first. First thing is we gotta give it some time after the season ends to reflect & enjoy the season we just had. We can't make that decision come faster. When it's time, we'll have that conversation with him. We've had a relationship with Kevin for 8 years in OKC, 9 years overall. We talk to him all the time. When those conversations occur, it's a continuation of dialog that's been going on for 8/9 years. The more clarity you have in any decision making process, it helps you. We can't speed that up or slow it down. We'll get an answer from him at the appropriate time. Kevin is highly intelligent, mature, rational and will work through the decision that he feels is best for him. We'll react accordingly. Will you show up at his door at 12:01? We haven't transitioned to that level of planning. First thing is reflecting on the year we had. The actual conversations and things of that nature will take place when it's time. We've been with this player for quite awhile. ... It's a continuation of a dialog going on for 8/9 years and what the future might hold together.
Ok, name the bounch of other teams that are in a better situation than the Rockets then (Warriors don't count, he's not going there -> and it's a fact :grin.
Every teams off season is going to suck if they don't land KD. Ours will just suck a little more because we will have 2 of the better recruiting tools in his friends Harden and Beasley plus the money to pay him and we still won't get him. wah-wah!
This team is most likely to suck for quite a while. There's a small chance I'm wrong. Wake me up in 5 years.
