Anything that gets the ball out of Dwight's hands in the post is a major plus.

Smith is an ideal fit in this team ... Given the situation ... why are we harping on ill advised shots on teams where there weren't many better options available ... the guy runs the floor, finishes strong and plays great defense when he's motivated and wants to WIN ...

He would be an ideal fit next to Dwight ... and on what planet did you guys think Rondo wouldn't have been great as well ?? ...

Please make this happen Morey ... Simply look at the fact that opposing PFs have dominated the rockets for 2 decades ... count the times an offensive rebound by the other team has killed us at the end of games... Understand what will happen if you have to go through the arms of Dwight and Smith to get to the rack ?

The Power of Smight (Smith and Dwight) is coming to Paints near you =)

Our system revolves around shooting 3s and driving to the basket. Last time I checked 40 percent of our attempts come from 3. Smith shoots like 3 attempts a game at about 30 percent within the past 3 seasons. It will only increase which means there will be more misses than makes on an already bad offensive team.

Offensively, Smith isn't what we want. Defensively, Smith could help, but who knows if he'll perform like he did 4 seasons ago?

It's a gamble which will likely cost more than just Dorsey but playing time to players who are starting to mesh.

you can argue all you want Scola was never even a borderline allstar ... Great Player, Great guy ... actually have hung out with him on more than one occasion but Smith at his Best is a really great player ... yes the key part of what i say is "AT HIS BEST" but at 29 there is no reason to think he can't be a Great version of himself on our squad ...

So your saying the fact that we should shoot 40 percent of our shots from 3 should remain a fact ? We wouldn't make it past the first round doing that ... the system needs to adjust to the talent we have and put us in the best position to win ... If you get smith and Howard ... don't you think we should play pick and roll and drive and kick more often than not ... with 2 above the rim finishers and rebounders that can sky ... don't you think the frequency in which we take 3's should come down ...

Players aren't stupid and coaches (hopefully) adjust ... Smith won't jack up ill advised shots if he knows we can WIN and there are better options out there . He will wanna fit in and play his role and if not ... well you WAIVE him like Detroit did ...

Thank you. Couldn't have it better myself. Plus he isn't any worse than Jones at shooting the 3. We need front court help and depth and is clearly better than Dorsey, Black and who knows if Jones can come back healthy. If we had other front court options better than this one, then I could understand passing on Smith.

You don't cut Capela, the dude you drafted in the first round. That's beyond dumb.

Offensively our system is constantly evolving. It is fair to say Smith will not be asked to shoot many 3's, with a majority of his shots being close to the basket.
