It could be bad. A few weeks ago he said he was just regaining sensation in his toes? Hope the best for him but unfortunately hope is about all anyone can offer, other than physical therapy and TLC.
I like Dragic but if Dmo is lost in such a trade I'll be very upset. Smith/Dmo is a really good pf rotation.
do don't think he'd offer a fair market trade to get it done quickly and withdraw it if not complete in 24? try to get it done and then move to wait it out mode.
You can't always trade a piece of **** for some gold. At some point, you have to give up something you like, to get something you want. How else are we going to get Dragic without an attractive asset like D-Mo?
If McRoberts is out for the year, the Disabled Player Exception can be offered (if Miami applies and gets it), which is "Lesser of 50% of injured player's salary or average salary." I think McRoberts signed for the MLE over the summer so half of that is probably around 2.6-2.8 mill. Not sure of the exact numbers.
Rotation. Say it with me. Having Josh Smith in your rotation could be a good fit for our team. He will never play as a 3 again.
I'd pull the trigger on a Dmo centered trade for Dragic in a second cause I think Dwight limits Dmo's effectiveness
The "recovery", once the nerve heals, will essentially consist of getting back into playing shape. Worst-case scenario, you're looking at a few weeks -- i.e. training camp/preseason. Again, if this is such a "real serious" injury that you feel could turn into the whole season or longer, can you please show a prior example of a peroneal nerve contusion having that sort of timetable? You have thousands of players to choose from throughout the history of the NBA. Thanks in advance.
NOP pick. You saw what Boston got back for Rondo, almost nothing. NOP pick/Terry/Johnson or Capela for Dragic, who will be a FA this summer.
If he was the main guy or the 2nd main guy, then absolutely agree. But with Dragic/Harden/Ariza/Smith/Howard, Smith would be 4th fiddle.

Agreed. I mentioned this in an earlier post. It also gives us time to evaluate Josh Smith's impact on the team and whether D-Mo would be worth giving up for Dragic if it comes down to it. If Morey could pull off getting Dragic w/o giving up D-Mo or the NOP pick, we might as well build him a statue right in front of Toyota Center. The way I see us getting Dragic has to include one of those - or worse - both.
