Making Smith the starter would finally give Dmo all touches he wants in the post with the second unit I would assume. They can see if it works out. If Smoove is a bust then thats no go on the Gogi/Dmo deal.
Yeah, you are. If you can give up DMO/Pick/filler for Dragic. You do it. Even if its the Pels pick. The Pels pick holds alot of weight and maybe we could get an additional piece off the Suns as well. Bottomline, we need to get Josh Smith with Bi-Annual before we make this move... so just hope and pray this goes through because we might have the pieces to win a championship.

F Josh Smith. I was on board with him last year but with the emergence of DMo on D, I dont think we need him anymore.
lol @ people surprised that Jsmoove would start if he came here. He'd be back at his natural position
Exactly. DMo's improvement really has turned my head. As of late I have quite enjoyed his post moves. He brings balance to the offense, especially with Howard on the bench. DMo's play has made it much more difficult for me to want to give him up.
Right, which opens up a gaping hole at PF and at backup center. The Rockets backcourt would be sick, but the front court would be weak and paper thin.
If Smith decides to go to Houston based on that premise, is it safe to assume that Phoenix have already said they would trade Sragic to Houston if D-Mo were in the package? I can't imagine the Rockets starting Smith and sending D-Mo to the bench if they were both on the team
Doesn't Smith live in Houston in the offseason??? Another advantage to sign him. Only way the Rockets give up DMO and the NOLA pick is if Dragic agrees to resign at an agreed amount.
The question is.. are the Rockets better with: C - Howard/Black PF - Smith/Pappanikolau SF- Ariza SG- Harden/Terry PG- Dragic/Beverly/Canaan or: C - Howard/Black/Dorsey PF - Motie/Pappanikolau SF - Ariza SG - Harden/Johnson PG - Beverley/Terry/Canaan My guess is that if the Rockets some how got Dragic and Smith, they would then try to package Canaan and possibly Pappanikolau for a PF/C.
I understand it from the pitch portion of it... which would sell him on us. But I can't wrap my head around how easily this guy could destroy this team. Maybe he fits seamlessly into the role or maybe he doesn't. It looks like we can say goodbye to DMO if this happens. AND say hello to Dragic. I hope Harden/Howard can get his mind right, and get him in shape.
Who would you rather guard LaMarcus Aldridge/Dirk? DMo or Josh Smith? I think DMo has improved greatly defensively, but is he as good as Josh Smith defensively at the PF position?
