That would be my guess as well. DMo and the NYK 2nd. DMO and the NOP pick is far too much.

The question then becomes what to do with the NOP pick? You've got Dragic, Harden, Ariza, Smith, and Howard as your starters.

    He would come off bench.

AND I'm done with my work for the day. Will be on a refresh-this-page mode for the rest of the day.

I like Dragic but I dunno if I wanna give up DMo for him. Anyone but H&H, Papa, Bev, and DMo. Yes, I may be overrating our role players.

Way too much to give up. Why does everyone just throw K Pap into these trades? NOP pick + Terrence/Capella/Canaan is at least as good as D Mo and a lesser pick - with the caveat that, as Cyber mentioned, not sure who would take a flyer on Jones with his nebulous timetable for return.

    Because of his "potential'.

I'm saying from Rockets perspective. I wouldn't move DMo for Goran. We've already had extended discussions about the need for 3 to 4 legit bigs to be able to make a run for the Finals. You've got to have multiple bigs just to get out of the West. And I'm talking about legit bigs. You remove DMo and add JSmoove and you've gone sideways to down in your big man rotation. We need to add another big to Dwight and DMo, not remove one of them.

While I love Goran and want him on this team I do not want to tear up part of the foundation to get him. I'd rather run with Bev, Canaan, and DMo and whatever other upgrade we can get without giving up DMo than to run with Josh Smith and Goran.

Getting Smith at almost Free99 makes sense! Defense.. Rebounding can slide in at Center for Howard.. Howard's Homie.. he don't have to be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd options.. just get putbacks.. hustle plays.. if he sucks.. good trade bait.. won't cost us no more than the minimum....

Not if we traded DMo away for Gogi he wouldn't. That was my point. If we keep Smith as a supersub at the 3 and 4, it still sucks because he's a garbage player, but it would be infinitely better than starting him.

No, he would be promised a starting position. Part of the pitch from what I heard.

its worth 2-3 mil. the rockets have it and others don't since they either used it already or dont have the right to use it because their cap hit is already too high.

Even more reason why it's a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea.

Quick take: As a Rockets fan, who/what do you value more: NOP pick or Dmo?

Ya... Rockets scout tells me he is worried about his team defense... Worried it could mess up what they are doing. Guy can play D and is a great shot blocker, but worried if he knows how to play good team D and not just individual D.

Haha. Ok, I don't believe this now. Morey/McHale would not promise him a starting position.

... or, if they do, it'd just be a lie like they supposedly did with Asik.
