Sure they can. Don't forget that in 2016 the cap may go all the way up to $85 million, with the luxury tax in the $100 million range. The Rockets probably won't have the cap room to SIGN anyone of significance, but they will have the flexibility to keep DMo, Beverley, Dragic and everyone else.

This could simply be spin, but there's a ring of truth to it. Rondo doesn't scream Moreyball to anyone paying attention, and it would be a trivial matter for Morey to play along until the very end just to force Cuban's hand.
Sometimes I think someone on Cuban's staff reads this board, and info is planted just to screw with him.
