Well I have a flight to catch for abroad in a bit. Hopefully any deals are done by the time I reach my destination.
I still think it's in the Rockets' best interest to be the 3rd team in a trade of Rondo and get depth in return.
I love BBHollic. He's the gift that keeps on giving to the GARM. He is completely out of his mind, but aren't we all a little bit? Ok.. maybe not that much, but still. I recommend taking everything he writes on here on pure entertainment value. You are perfectly sane if you disagree with him 99% of the time. You have to say this about him though, I've never seen someone try so hard to make an insane argument sound like gospel truth & verified science. Bless his heart.
For T Jones/NOP lottery pick/filler (if that's the case)... has to be a deal Morey wants to make. The rise of DMO too good, but if DMO needs to be included. Make it happen.
If Green is in the mix then more would be added of course. Wright is trash. Dallas would be robbing the celts if that deal happened.
He said last night that he wasn't hearing anything about Dragic, that he believes Rockets were going to get Brewer.
I hope Morey is just pushing th me Rondo to Houston rumors out there to get Cuban to over pay! That way he won't go after PBev this's off season with another Parsons contract offer.
I wouldn't put it past him. After the Parsons ordeal, I too would be looking to troll Cuban for the lols.
I'm sorry but when again did Brandan Wright become this great centerpiece to a superstar trade? -When he was traded for Troy Murphy a couple years ago? -when he became a "young talent" in his SEVENTH year in the league? -When he finally sniffed 9PPG, and secured a backup role? -When he grew to 6'9" and became an offensively limited center who can dunk and block a little less than 1 shot per game? -When his best game as an NBA player was against the Houston Rockets when they had a 6'6" center? -when the Mavs thought he was so much of the future of their team that they gave him a whopping 2 year deal last year at the mid level? Or is it all of the above that makes him the KEY piece to an all-star trade? Use your head folks. Ainge could give two S$%#'s about Brandan Wright. He just wants Morey and other GM's to think that he thinks he's the next Kareem/LBJ Hybrid, and you should give me the Pelican's pick and D-Mo to match the greatness of Brandan Wright.
You know at the same time i don't want Rondo here because IMO taking away the ball from the MVP does not work to our advantage, someone like Dragic who can play off the ball would be the best FIT. But nothing is for certain in this league while Dragic CAN sign with us this off season what if he doesn't ? we were almost sure we had Bosh and look what happened. IF the reports out there that Dmorey is really interested in Rondo i just hope they're right in that we can make it work with him.
To get Rondo the Rockets would have to send $8,539,394 worth of outgoing salary. The salary of all Rockets players: Howard: $21,436,271 Harden: $14,728,844 Ariza: $8,579,089 Terry: $5,850,313 Papanikolaou: $4,797,664 Jones: $1,618,680 Motiejunas: $1,483,920 Capela: $1,189,200 Dorsey: $948,163 Garcia: $915,243 Beverley: $915,243 Canaan: $816,842 Daniels: $816,482 Johnson: $507,336 Black: $507,336 If we sent Terry, we would need to include an additional $2,689,081 in outgoing salary. If we sent Papa, we would need to include an additional $3,741,730 in outgoing salary. If the Celtics want to send Jeff Green out with Rondo, the Rockets would need to send out $17,607,272. Good luck getting to that amount without the Celtics having to cut half of their roster to accept all our incoming players. Unless Ariza was included.
