Agreed. I've never seen his shot chart so wasn't sure if you meant he's below average at that spot. Would be the perfect stretch 4 off the bench.
Well Howard and Harden are off the table, I'd be pretty upset if we flipped DMo for anything less than an amazing player, Ariza is here to stay, and the only way I see Bev getting replaced is if they bring in Gogi. I honestly think the move will be for depth rather than for a starter and you don't trade starters for depth.
It makes just as much and maybe even more sense to get a player with the TPE now that you can trade again in February.
I meant I either see TJones getting traded (technically the starter when he returns), or him/Bev getting replaced at the starting role, pushing them down for bench depth.
I think you're wrong on this (although I'm with you on DMO). Daryl will use the TPE for a player who could possibly be used as salary filler for a deadline trade, even if that player is useless. I don't think we get our socks knocked off now but it should be a depth player maybe.
Ah yes. But it is a sellers market now no? Morey will not overpay and there are no desperate teams 27% through the season.
I just don't see Jones having much trade value, but I'm sure they'd love to move him if they got a decent offer. The only replacement for Bev that has been talked about as being on the trade block would be Gogi. The rumors so far have been about SG/SF types who play defense, then again that could all be a smokescreen, Morey usually he does things that no one sees coming.
You don't need a desperate team. You just need a team that will take the TPE and a second round pick for a contract.
Actually, I don't see why there wouldn't be. Look at the east. It's wide open. Ones strong piece could make or break you. Same with the last 5 seeds in the west. Get a good piece, you could be an 8th seed. Get rid of someone, tank for a good lotto pick. 1/2 way through the season is a little too late to go from 11-12 to 6-8. Not now though.
Jone's trade value is slightly more than a stale bag of potato chips right now. Besides, he is an athletic tweener and they are a dime a dozen in the NBA.
