Which is because teams really do not bother to guard him beyond the paint. He is an actual liability on offense and not up to Bev's standards on defense. He does feint and pound the rock incessantly looking for an assist, but Harden precludes that style of play. I will say though he does rebound very well.
In a perfect world, we trade for Rondo, try him out and if it doesn't seem to fit we sign Dragic in the offseason
@DarrenWolfson: Word has the Rockets still after Corey Brewer -- the coaching staff really likes him. Nothing imminent though. #twolves
So why get Rondo? To distribute? Harden is performing at an MVP level in that role. To shoot? I don't think so. To play good defense? We've got a guy already who plays elite defense and is shooting the 3 at a high level.
Sources: Rox talked Cj miles with Indy. I see him similar to brewer in some ways. Does it happen? I say prob not. Indi is very confused with their team.
The Rockets will never obtain Rondo until he can be had for a second round pick to staff the bench. Do not give the time of day to those supporting a trade to obtain Rondo. It is not happening anytime soon. Read the sig.
I'm not so sure about that. Rondo has had some of the greatest seasons ever for a PG. You give that guy a few weapons and he can carry you to the finals, he has done it before... (Unlike Harden) I don't care If he can't shoot, the boy can play and play when it matters most. 20-20-20 threat. People that think Harden can create, don't remember what rondo can do when healthy. He made Kendrick Perkins look competent.
Seems like the Rockets are looking for depth at the 2/3 spot...Brewer would be a nice fit on this team. The guy is just pure hustle and seemingly plays well against us...why not for us...
Most importantly, Rondo UNDERSTANDS tempo and game management, probably as well as any PG in the NBA, even better than Chris Paul I'd say. I wonder If Doc Rivers would agree? I imagine he would. We DESPERATELY need that, and it will be readily apparent in the playoffs If we rely on Canaan/Beverly/Harden to control tempo, which is an aspect of basketball he might never fully understand. Very, very few ever do. If there is one thing that would have me shy away from Rondo, it's his personality. I love his old school toughness, but with Dwight and James I feel it might be a bad mix. (If only we had Lowry...)
Do you care if he takes the ball out of Harden's hands? Harden is a much much more dangerous player than Rondo with the rock.
So for everyone on the board, jtr >>>>> cyberx and woj because he knows morey than morey knows himself
The Rockets do not need a PG. Harden is THE PG of the Rockets. Morey is not recruiting any player that needs the ball in his hands to be effective. Why should he? Do you believe that Harden leads the league in ppg without the ball. What about those 6 assists? Harden with the ball averages five assists less than Rondo, but scores 14 more ppg. Who do you want with the rock?
