Only thing is I really like Canaan. But dragon is an upgrade. I trust morey though. Dalembert and dragic sounds good though. But not at the expense of chemistry. I truly wouldn't mind keeping the team as is.
Winning all these games plus the emergence of DMo and to lesser degrees Canaan and Papa has put us in the enviable position of not having to do anything. Because we aren't desperate, we can let the deals come to us.....we can be patient. Time is a resource, and right now the rockets have it.
I can't argue against your point of our competition during this 18-5 run. Nor can I argue that the teams mentioned have in fact had injuries, and that yes Dallas has built some chemistry (and even that B**ch wearing 25 is playing better). One thing I will say however is that this 18-5 team is not the same team that started 0-0 at the beginning of the season or that played some of those games. One mention is about how teams will not fear a big man backing up Howard on our current team as opposed to Omer last season. But this team is not the 2013-14 Rockets and as much as rim protection would be nice, as a team their defense as a whole is leagues better than last years. Even in the GS game, a offensively potent team was held in check for the better part of 3.5 quarters. So the fear of getting to the basket is less a concern. Even without Dwight, Gasol is averaging 8.5 PPG against us this year. In a playoff series I would take my chances against that. That being said, even without adding someone, but still hoping we do, this team is already better. The injuries are a blessing in disguise for sure. Getting Dmo in and getting his confidence up against NBA talent is huge. Even getting Nick Johnson some PT my have a Sam Cassell effect (not holding my breath) and he may come around the second half of the season. My point is that all the while these other teams are building chemistry and getting better, so are we. Does that guarantee playoff success? No. But even now, after losing Parsons and Asik and Lin, we are playing better than I would have thought and I would definitely say better than other teams expected. I look forward to our first game against Portland. The chips on this teams shoulders should be HUGE.
david west would be perfect. perhaps a trade of jones + 2nd round pick gets it done? dwight + west would be very physical.
nonsense... as another poster put it a few days ago... if DMo were the deciding factor in our getting Dragic - Morey would drive DMo to the airport... I agree 100%... adding Dragic to the mix, puts us 1 decent pf away from be a true contender... adding Dragic + a midlevel pf (someone like Bass) gets us ready to rock n roll...
I mean, he's a perfect fit. Veteran, mid range shot, rebounder, toughness....just doesnt seem like something Morey would do with the player option at 12 million who will be 35 in 2015
I assume you are joking. Morey is not giving up a front court stud and a player who looks like perhaps an all star center/PF for more depth at the guard position. Guards are well represented on the Rockets Roster. Bigs are incredibly understaffed on this Rockets roster. Besides, D-Mo is worth well more than Dragic on the trade market right now.
You've seen how high I've been on Dmo...but you're crazy for saying that. You do that trade no questions asked.
I could see DM dealing for that contract - only after he has his pg in place... Dragic for Pelicans pick + DMo (using exception) then West for Terry (expiring)/TJones/choice of Capella or Dorsey/2 2nds then we go over the cap to retain our players... and we're rollin... D12/Capella or Dorsey West/Black Ariza/KPap Harden/Garcia/Daniels/N Johnson Dragic/Bev/Cannan for the next couple years... maybe drop a sg to add another minor front court player... a guy can dream, right?
