Payne looks interesting - stretch 4 with size - but doesn't look fully developed. Upside is great, but I wonder if he will achieve it during Dwight's prime.

Teague troubles me as well. His PER is great and it passes the eye test, but his defensive metrics are horrendous, and even if Harden is playing passable defense, if Teague is going to be a traffic cone on D our backcourt will get punished just like last year.

Have to wonder if there's something beyond even advanced defensive metrics that Morey sees from Teague on that end of the floor. Offensively, he will be great, but he isn't a lights out 3 point shooter by any stretch (shooting 30% so far this year).

Teague just doesn't seem like a Moreyball type of player, especially at 8 million/yr for the next 3 years.

Then I'd like for them to include a 1993 Mookie Blaylock

I would think you would love that trade, since you think Jones is nothing but a pile of garbage on the court.

Send them Dorsey and cash. Korver would be excellent backing up both wing positions (and keeping Garcia on the bench)

We haven't exactly had a clean bill of health.

That is not true. I've never said that nor do I think that. What I have said very clearly many times over is Terrence without an efficient jump shot is JUST ANOTHER PLAYER. He's not a difference maker for us without an efficient 3-ball jump shot. For him to be a difference maker for us he either has to come up with the great 3-ball jump shot OR he's got to become an ace defensive presence at the 4. I see neither thing happening. So he falls into the category of JUST ANOTHER PLAYER.

That doesn't mean he's dog poop. He's got a great handle for a 4 man (which we don't need). And he seems to see the floor well and is a decentt passer in transition (another skill we will not optimize because we are not built that way). He could possibly go to another team and be a better player for them than he is for us because he fits another system better than he does ours.

Take off your distortion lenses and quit twisting and torquing what I have said to suit your fancy.

If true... the answer would be potential (plus rookie scale contract for the next couple years...)

Why would the Lakers trade an established top 10 center for a kid who had never played a game in the pros - or even in college? ;)

    That's why he said 2 of those 3 ;)

And about that potential trade....forget Teague....give me Korver all day.

I thought Payne (stretch 4 with inside game )would be a great fit next to Howard coming out the draft if it was ever possible to grab him ,Morey should have.

all 3 of those guys could help..

    Teague/Can Can
    Harden/Terry/Korver
    Ariza/Korver
    Payne/Dmo/Ariza
    howard/Dmo

Any trade suggestion with with Hawks that doesn't involve Millsap is a disappointment.

I like Payne but do we really want to rely on yet another young PF to contend for a title?

I'm totally down with Payne backing up Millsap though. Both are stretch 4s and good rebounders.

Would be nice to engage ATL and PHO in a 3 way trade with Dragic or Millsap coming to Houston.

We are in win now mode. Payne has potential to be a good stretch 4 but relying on a rookie to contend for a title just seems stupid to me, not to mention Jones is actually younger than Payne.

And why would the Hawks have interest in Bev or TJones? Doesn't make much sense when they have 2 PGs and TJones would be behind Millsap.

If we could somehow just swap a 1st+KPap for Korver that would be sweet, but I know that's not reality.

Your dislike of Jones has been VERY clear. I dont think you have ever spelled his name right either. Rule of thumb, if a poster purposefully misspells a players name, then they probably are haters of that player.

Jones could be out for a month or longer.

The Hawks PF rotation is set. Horford-Millsap will be taking up most of the bigmen minutes. The Hawks can afford to hold onto an injured Jones as he holds more value to them as insurance should Millsap bolt elsewhere as an unrestricted free agent. Millsap isn't eligible for a contract extension.

I was looking at Rockets' perspective. This trade doesn't make sense for the Rockets.

Disliking a player's game does not mean hating the player. You spell his name Terrence. I have respectfully declined to use his last name since it is so offensive to some around here. LOL And that's a joke because we see the same stupid gifs over and over and over and over and over again and nobody gets offended. (Que Ron Paul "It's happening".)

Get your facts straight and quit distorting things. I do not "hate" Terrence on a personal level nor do I hate his game. I hate his fit with this team and his inability or unwillingness (however you want to view it) to turn himself into a good shooter. I hate that about DMo too.

There are only 2 players in Rockets history that I actually hated their floor games while they were here:

    1. Rafer Alston - could not stand him running around out there posting 3 for 11's and JVG sticking with him when it wasn't working.

    2. Juwan Howard - could not stand his stupid line drive jump shot from 15-18 feet that he only hit at about a 38% clip and he took a ton of and when he missed it led to a runout on the other end that we were hapless to defend because we were playing him at age 50 and a gimpy McGrady along with Rafer at the same time.

I absolutely abhored those 2 fellas floor games because we were trying to win a championship and I knew they were preventing us from doing so with that crappy line drive jump shot from Juwan and Rafer constantly clanging all those tear drops and jump shots.

Don't quite feel the same about Terrence because I know he's not here long-term. And we haven't been in a position to possibly win a championship. If Terrence actually stays here and never learns to shoot and we wind up getting knocked out of the playoffs every year of the Harden/Howard window Terrence will fall into the same category for me as Juwan and Rafer. But that won't happen.

Again, Jones could be out for a month or longer. The Rockets can't continue without adding another big man especially with Dwight missing games too.
