Oh wow. How did I miss that one. Yes, Nick Collison is still in the NBA. LOL... Jason COLLINS retired. I'm trying to cram alot of work in this time of year. Please excuse the mental lapses.

Expiring contract, and 2.58 mil... sure. I'd love to have him. Not sure what kind of difference he'd make but he's sure as hell going to be alot more effective than Black and Dorsey.

This was posted on a Hawks fan forum. No idea on the poster or legitimacy, but I thought I would pass it along:

Ties in a bit with the clue that Doc Roc posted on twitter about Atlanta playing ball.

Would be great if Horford/Milsap/Korver were also included...

Isn't Teague just a slightly better version of Lin?

Makes sense for ATL if they plan on splurging in free agency.

A trade like, Beverley, Terry and the Pelicans pick for Teague and Korver would free up like 14 mill for them, giving them about 30 mill to spend in free agency.

Teague is much better than Lin.

Which is why I doubt Atlanta gives him up, especially this early in the season.

you guys trippin. Jeff Teague isn't the truth, but most of the time he's right. I would take him for Beverley.

Supposedly they really like Schroder. (Not just from that post -- I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere reputable although I can't remember where).

I highly doubt this...Morey's bent over backwards to avoid taking on guaranteed salary past this year. Teague's a nice player, but he's the guy we're going to throw in that towel on?

Teague is a better PG and scorer, but man we lose a ton in defense and 3pt shooting. It is an interesting trade idea since he fits into the Lin TPE and he is locked up long term, but I'd pass. Sure we may lose Bev in the offseason, but he gives us the best chance to win this year.

If you could expand the deal to include Milsap by emptying our asset stash, the cap flexibility wouldn't matter anymore. Just for perspective, lets say we absorbed Teague with the Lin TPE and then sent them Beverley, the NOP pick, Papa, Capella, Johnson, Jones and Daniels. Our depth chart would look like this:

    Teague / Cannan
    Harden / Terry
    Ariza / Garcia
    Milsap / Dmo
    Howard / Black

Assuming we resign Milsap, that wipes out our cap, leaving us only the MLE to add a significant rotation player. Is that a championship roster?

It's a better play off team, but I think the lack of depth keeps us at the conference finals.

Maybe Morey gets Teague and Brand? That would help us right away and he can still deal again in Feb.

Depends on the first. Not sure I'd trade the Pelicans pick.

Not this year, but next year if you add a backup big with the MLE and give the team time to gel. It would be nice if you could send DMo instead of Tjones. Maybe trade for Corey Brewer with any leftover scraps???

That pick will likely fall between 12 and 19. It's not as valuable as you think.

I would absolutely love Jeff Teague but I'm really going to miss Patrick Beverley if he gets traded for him
