I'm sure they will try to use his non-guaranteed contract for salary matching purposes in an upcoming trade. I think it's worth $3M which is pretty significant. Barring that coming to fruition, I would expect him to be cut before he becomes guaranteed.
KingDrew said we reached out to Atlanta, everyone assumed it was for Milsap. I would not be unhappy with a Mike Scott acquisition, either.
I'm sure they are head over heals for Horford as well. He's about the closest thing to Bosh out there, hungrier to win, a better rebounder, and extremely cheaper. I think they would try to gauge what Atlanta is going to do with potentially going after Greg Monroe. Would they consider going younger with him and moving out one of their two bigs? The conversation with Atlanta probably didn't go anywhere, but they've got to keep conversations open for any future deals. Maybe Mike Scott was discussed as well, but I dont see that being the real true reason why Morey would by dialing up Danny Ferry as an end goal.
Scott would be great, like the Clippers adding Hawes. But losing Lin, Asik, Parsons for Scott and Ariza? That's going the wrong way. Clippers, like us, have 2 top 10 players. I'm not sure why we think we're so special.
I'm pretty sure that Morey wakes up in the morning and is contemplating possible trades before he takes his morning piss.
T Jones is just a good a fit as Scott. A vet at PF for some consistency and a vet PG would help more than a move like getting scott.
