Cannan, k-pap, covington's non-g contract, NOP pick for Ricky Rubio, Chase Budinger? Is this trade win-win for both team? We may give Ricky 4 yrs 52m around extension. We still have space to pursue Kevin Durant at 2016, if dump Ariza's contract.
I see it in complete reverse but respect your opinion. With Jones and DMO holding down the 4 spot Im not that worried cuz you can't have an all star at every position. At the moment its just Beverly at the PG and the big question mark is who's the PG there after?
If you think Rubio is a valuable upgrade to Caanan I just have to disagree. Forget about Papa and the NO pick. Rubio is not worth any of them, IMHO.
spitting out on crap I read on the summer. but all the rumors about what morey is linked too has been about Pg through trades and PF (bosh) through FA. which covers your original statement.
better player I can infer player that is not star status? larger vet contract and pick? ok vet that is playable and tradeable to get more salary later? morey always wheeling and dealing.
My source tells me Morey is discussing Rockets players in deals, but nothing is imminent. Well no F-Ing S$%^ Sherlock Some people really didn't get enough attention growing up.
ok, got it. That's what I thought you meant. If you type star, superstar then people will go off with comments. better to be conservative with wording.
Something will definitely happen soon, next 7 days or so. And if it doesn't, it'll happen at the trade deadline. And if not then, next offseason. Remember, situation is fluid so be patient. Just passing along what I know.
Yes! you sound like Stephen Smith. Now you just need to get all the players going to the Lakers and Knicks rumors out.
Rule of thumb guys- -An NBA GM will not move a player with significant on the court value for THAT TEAM for a pick if that does not exceed the market value of that player. (unless that team is striping down its roster, and moving a productive player to go young IE moving Marcus Morris for a 2nd). EX: Case in point, the idiots that suggest Morey is trying to do something stupid like trade Pat Beverley among others for a draft pick (assuming market value dictates a late 1st rounder, high 2nd, or multiple 2nd's). Pat Beverley's on the court value to this team exceeds that of what they are getting in return. If a team overpays market value (Ex: potential lottery team offers a unprotected first) than you might pull the trigger on a deal like that to put yourself in a better position to make a major upgrade. Even then though. A good GM in a winning position(like the Rockets are in) would probably try to parlay that type of deal into a 3 team deal automatically to get that major upgrade ASAP and might hold off on the deal in order to not risk on the court production at that time. No way you gut a significant role player right now without a guarantee coming back. That's why half of the "rumored" insiders deals folks talk about are full of crap most of the time. Current on the court production for a winning team isn't being considered and all that is being considered is fantasy for trade packages later on down the line.
Makes sense. Nobody buys for 80c and sells for 40c, and nobody finds something for 5c and sells it for 20c a year later without getting an appreciating asset in return. got to keep future returns in mind.
The more important fact is nobody sells a $1 bottle of water in the desert to someone for $1.50 when they don't have another source of hydration. If you get someone that pays you $100 for a bottle of water and you think you are hydrated enough to make it to a gas station, you sell that bottle of water. Its a matter of assessing immediate need vs. value. ..... The fact is the Rockets need guys like Pat Bev, Terrence Jones, and possibly even Canaan this year to have a winning season. Their assumed production right now plays a huge part in trade talks.
I get you... but two things you said... 1. Rumors 2. Summer Bev is solid and with his defense along with Ariza and Howard they help to cover for Harden's defense... Our weakness is at pf... T_Man
