Technically about 5 hours ago, the Rockets tried like hell to trade Parsons. The TPE would have been a nice get for the Rockets. Not sure why they weren't able to get that deal done. I bet Donnie Nelson was like sure, and then Cuban stepped in and said hell no.. no way we help you acquire a nice TPE that helps you take back that much salary in a superstar type trade. (Kind of a douche move.... not surprised)
Right. If you could have done it with Parsons, why not match and go with a better starting lineup and Ariza off the bench for. 6th man? Then fill in around that? They are going to save their money, sign 1 year contracts to high draft busts hoping they can raise some value on them and stall for a year. The sooner fans come to terms with that, the better.
are there any scenarios where we can get dragic and milsap? That would be enough for me to step off the ledge.
Nick Johnson is ballin in summer league Dante Greene's SL play helped land us Artest Maybe the rook pushes it over the top similar to the Artest trade who also only had 1 year left on his contract when he was acquired
Well why is it even a douche move? Correct me if I'm wrong but what could the Mavs have gained from a sign and trade? Instead lf just outright signing him?
Smart move. People here hate Cuban, but regardless of what you think of the guy…he is GREAT for the NBA
TJones is a steep price for an expiring contract., but it's fair because Paul Millsap is superb. Hopefully the conversation starts with DMo and Pick.
Im sure there was something the Rockets were offering obviously. Rights to a foreign player maybe. Maybe a 2nd rounder. They talked for awhile today about it so obviously Morey was offering something that at least got their attention.
Agree. He knows more about basketball than most owners and isn't afraid to spend to put what he feels is the best product out there. He tried to go cheap 1 year and it bit him hard. I think he's learned from that.
How could we have done a SNT with Parsons. He ALREADY signed the contract earlier this week. Once the contract is signed, we can only match or not match. SNT is not an option. The only way that would could have done a sign and trade was before they sent the contract to the league office. Did they change the rules regarding this????
If both clubs "decline" the offer sheet then a sign and trade for the player's offered amount can be done. Read Stein's twitter lol.
