Parsons was not good in the Portland series, no argument there. But neither was Harden aside from Game 6(save for the 4th quarter and especially that last play). Look at it this way. If you don't match Parsons, it means you're basically writing off 2014-15 and hoping to save that capspace for someone else down the road. If this offseason has taught us anything, it should be that you don't just p-ss away an entire season because a year or two from now some big name free agent might sign with you. Yes, it worked with Dwight, but it failed with Bosh twice along with Melo. I'd say this approach is not working for the most part.
isn't McHale's contract up next year ? the only solace I would have in us making Parsons our "third star" is the fact that after this year, we may just get a coach who can 1) make Howard and Harden run pick and rolls together 2) hold Harden and Parsons responsible for their *****ty defense 3) doesn't think X's and O's are for Tic Tac Toe Honestly, with decent coaching, a team with Harden and Howard on it should be a threat to make a deep run. Add some defense (Beverly, Ariza), some shooting (Ariza, Daniels) and some young bigs (Jones, DMo) and we should be able to get over the hump.
meant to add Parsons into the "get over the hump" mix. One thing I will say for Chandler - he runs the pick and roll with Dwight better than anyone on this team. His height allows him to see over his defender and make great passes.

Dallas is desperate. Question regarding matching Parsons: If we were to sign another player before matching Parsons, would that player have to sign the contract before we match or just agree to the terms of the contract?
Dallas signing Richard Jefferson pretty much screams that they don't think they are getting Parsons or Miller.

Because nobody has seen him play. At least we're being honest for once and not pretending like we know he'll be good. Like we did with Spanoulis. As far is I know, Capela is a type of cheese that goes on an italian sandwich.
