Very few trades are clean and easy. A Rubio trade to Houston likely includes Bledsoe (or some other PG) going to Minny.

Sorry, forget the forgettable Alexei. Doesn't alter my basic response, however.

    Thanks for the correction BTW.

This is the point many ate ignoring . harden isn't ray Allen or Kevin martin and this team doesn't run a conventional offense . harden doesn't come inside the 3pt line on offense unless he has the ball in his hands an he doesnt run off screens

I'm not sure Lavine can or should run point...I'd ask for Johnson, DMo, NO pick and a second rounder. Jones would just clog up the 4, offers less versatility

    Johnson/Mo williams
    Lavine/ Robinson III
    Wiggins/Young/Budinger
    Bennett/DMo/Dieng
    Pekovic/DMo/Dieng

Get rid of Barea, Martin, and Brewer for more picks.

Why do you guys keep talking about Rubio?

He would only be a 1 year rental because of Fegan. I don't understand why you guys are talking about Rubio as something close to a max player. He can't shoot a basketball and he can't finish. That's a major problem when you are playing basketball. He just went 10 for 31 in the fiba tourney with 0 for 5 from 3pt land.

He's a restricted free agent and his low salary would allow a sign and then resign maneuver similar to bosh / parsons this season. You could potentially snag a 10-13 million dollar player (Milsap?) and them resign Rubio.

Fegan is a player but he does not have complete control here.

Reality has to be that any team trading for a Rubio or similar must have a commitment going forward first.

Exactly. And...if he signed for the QO then you've got max dollars to offer another max free agent. And Morey could come back the year after and offer Rubio the 5-year max.

But better yet....Rubio accepts QO. Fill out 2015 cap with one year deals only. Than in 2016 get KD to walk here when the cap jumps to $80 million and you've got Rubio on a low cap hold.

Yeah, but if Morey trades for Rubio, he better be prepared to give him the max because Fegan probably will be able to find a patsy willing to pay Rubio the max. As long as Morey's willing to match another Parsons-type offer sheet, everything should be fine.

I agree Fegan doesn't have nearly the power as he did with Dwight, who was a much better player, unrestricted, and dealt with a Daryl Morey who was at his most desperate times. Rubio doesn't have nearly leverage, especially as a RFA.

If Morey gets the right trade, he'll trade for him without a commitment.

Agree. And that's not the worst of it. The main stat is:

    Rubio is not a winner

Rubio and Love have never even had a .500 season, much less make the playoffs

If Rubio was anything better than a loser, he would have won 50% of his games in at least one season with Love

Man, ppl can be so dense

cause and effect scenario. Rubio would become somewhat available IF Minnesota could somehow trade for Bledsoe.

Unless we have a repeat of this offseason aka Fegan finds one his NBA owner buddies to offer Rubio an untradeable max contract and he signs before we could snag a 3rd guy.

I rather keep Fegan out of the situation and honestly, Rubio isn't worth it. If he was a top 10 point guard then go for it, but he is still a work in progress.
