Unfortunately he's just a terrible finisher, probably the worst in the NBA for starting PGs.

    questions....

    1) Does any team have the cap space to offer Bledsoe a max contract?
    2) How far away from having enough space is Minnie? (would us taking payroll from them via our tpe clear them enough space for them to offer?)
    3) If anyone does have the space... why don't they sign Bledsoe to the max offer sheet? Either you get Bledsoe or you force Phoenix to piss or get off the pot.... only downside is if Bledsoe is not a max player...

Please take the Texans crap to the Texans board. breh

Don't want the GARM to be polluted with talk about a poor excuse of a sport like football filled with aggression and violence but very little skill.

Let's stick to talking about Rockets and a real sport like basketball here.

Actually he's one of the worst in the NBA period (not just point guards or even starting point guards. He was bottom 5 in the entire NBA a year and half ago in overall shooting. I love everything else he does and i'll trust Morey but Rubio makes rafer Alston look like a sharpshooter. Seriously.

I would say that I expect this to happen well into training camp much like you see with other sports such as football where the player will not participate in camp & preseason games until a new deal is reached.

At the end of the day, the Suns hold all the leverage, and they are poised to get Bledsoe's camp back to the table soon. Much like anything in negotiations, you need a deadline. When Bledsoe stops getting paychecks due to being suspended (much like with the Royce White situation without the head drama), he'll ultimately break.

Or he does something stupid like accepts the QO which is something I would highly advise against if I was representing him or advising him financially in any way. Your family's future is something to consider and one bad knee injury this year and he has to look his family in the face and tell him them that he walked away from 8 to 10 million dollars additionally this year and next because of the gamble he wanted to take the following year to get a max salary which HE IS NOT GUARANTEED TO GET IN UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENCY

I personally think the Bledsoe free agency bonanza is much to do about nothing much like it is with NFL contract negotiations most of the time. I think he's coming back to the Suns on a fair contract, and there really isn't much to see here unless someone sheds enough contracts from now until the season starts to offer Bledsoe a contract that creates leverage for Bledsoe's camp which I don't see happening.

Beverley also gave us above average 3 pt shooting and better % finishing at the rim. Beverley is a better fit for this team, especially considering he is playing for peanuts while Rubio thinks he worth the MAX.

Rubio is not only a poor basketball fit, he is poor value.

To be fair Rubio doesn't shoot a whole lot.

Yes, he shot 47% at the rim last year which is below the league average which was 55.67% . That sounds bad doesn't it. Let's see what the really means.

In 82 games Rubio took 317 shots at the rim and made 149 (47%). If Rubio had taken the same number of shots at the rim but shot the league average, then he would have made 176.47 shots for the year. That means that he would have made an additional 27.47 shots at the rim for the year.
Over his 82 games that's an additional .335 shots at the rim per game.

So if Rubio makes one additional shot at the rim every 3 games then he's shooting the league average.

Personally, I'll trade 1 miss at the rim every 3 games in exchange for an elite passer.

What do you think would happen if you put Rubio at the point for the Rockets? How exactly do you thnk that he'd hinder the team?

Slow your roll bro. I wasn't talking about the great sport of football. Just made a suggestion. So no need to get bent out of shape FTW.

I can agree with you more on the fit argument more than the value argument. Keep in mind Rubio is very marketable. He may not be as talented as certain playrers like say a Gordon Hayward but can sell many more tickets. Beverley is terrible at finishing at the rim an inconsistent shooter within games. Spot up shooter or not the Rockets need better decision makers. Rubio is a better PG by alot and that's the key. Now we'll be able to find just how good offnesivley T Jones is.

It's nice to imagine Rubio running the fast break. Seeing how that's how this team plays most of the time, a fast tempo offense opposed to a half court set, he should be a good fit here.

Would Harden be willing to play off of the ball every now and then to let Rubio maximize his talents? Would Harden be as potent? Which scheme maximizes Howard?

Harden is very solid as a catch and shoot option. Harden would be effective penetrating after Rubio is able to disturb the defense. Rubio will have better three point looks playing with Harden and Howard.

    Get Rubio 2014.

Just curious -- did anyone nite that Bled and Smug Saunders share an agent? That this was a nothing but poorly disguised window dressing as a favor?

Or that Suns have three contracts due to be extended next summer in Morris, Morris and Dragic? Suns have the need to sign Bled to control their future cap?

What is the end game to the chase for the one of four 1s IDd with just one being the real target? Def not RR re Rondo at this time, so...who, when, how?

You answered your own question on #3. Also Bledsoe isn't a max player because of health not because of skill

If Rubio is traded here he'll start. Love Bev but he's simply not nearly what Rubio is offensively. And Bev could be traded in a Rubio trade anyways.

Rubio leaving means Schved is running their point?

No Rubio trade is clean and easy (for Wolvsies).
