Minnesota does not have the cap room to make a max offer to Bledsoe. They are almost at 70 Mil in salaries.

Unless they are planning to do this via sign and trade. With the Rockets as a potential third team?

Alternatively, this Bledsoe interest may just be leverage for a potential Rubio extension. Probably best not to get too excited until something more concrete comes down the road.

They could fulfill Basketballholic's dream and move Rubio to Houston in a three-way if they don't see Ricky in their long-term plans.

Of course, if Houston happens to get Rubio, this could just be another "I scratch your back, now scratch mine" maneuver by Dan Fegan that would involved Houston giving Rubio the max.

I dropped you a random trade in the random trade threads hours ago. That is all.

I have no clue how Rubio became a (supposed) max level player. The guy shoots sub 37% from the field. If he gets the max, he will quickly own the worst contract in the entire NBA. Rubio shouldn't even be able to sniff a max contract.

I don't love him as much as some on here do but he's a rare player that has a major deficiency in one area but is ridiculously good in others....much like Harden. If Parsons can go out and get him a max contract, Rubio getting the max isn't out of the question.

Rubio is a great passer, an okay defender and he can shoot free throws.

    That's it.

Parsons' contract is terrible, but I would much rather pay Parsons than Rubio. Rubio getting the max would certainly be out of the question if I had any say on the issue (which I obviously don't).

What's your opinion of Terrence's shooting? Do you think he's going to become a better shooter? If so, how much better?

Giving him the max with his well-documented offensive deficiencies is scary. If he can at least get some late career Kidd-like 3 point shooting skill, he would be just fine with his passing and defensive skills. But shooting 32% from downtown isn't going to cut it.

what happens when basketballholic was right the whole entire time about us getting Rubio in exchange for Terrence Jones? Honestly, I would rather have Bledsoe, but Rubio is an extraordinary play maker and ball handler. Plus it's not like he's locked up long term.... yet.. so if the experiment fails.. yeah.

idk. Wolves making a push for Bledsoe is crazy.

Hey I don't think either one (Parsons or Rubio) is anything close to a max player but just like what Clutch had told us via his latest article, if you want to play you got to pay.

    Ideally, I'd rather see:

    1. Dragic absorbed by the Rockets' TPE
    2. Bledsoe signs the max contract and is traded to Minnesota for Martin, Rubio, Barea, and Gorgui Dieng.
    3. Phoenix then sends us Barea and Dieng for Terrence Jones and the 1st Round Pick (of course, this is more to satisfy the Dragic for TPE than anything else)

Phoenix reshuffles its deck of point guards with Rubio and Isaiah Thomas, they actually have a real shooting guard in Kevin Martin, they add another front court player in Jones, and they get the Pelicans' 1st Rounder. In return, they moved a player to Minnesota who wasn't really going to work out for them anyways and the biggest sacrifice would be Dragic, who they could (though I'd wager it'd be like less than 10%) have lost in free agency next summer.

Of course that's wishful thinking but hey..

Awesome! If Wolves end up with him, they would a great group. Wonder who they would have to give up in a S&T.

Well it doesn't make much sense for Minnesota to have Bledsoe and Rubio on max deals.

Perhaps a three way deal where Rubio comes to Houston, our assets go to Phoenix, and Bledsoe goes to Minny?

    Terrence Jones?

I hate watching him shoot 3-pointers. That being said, he is a MUCH better shooter than Rubio. Rubio has never been able to shoot and hasn't really shown any improvement in that area in his entire career.

T-Jones can get the ball in the hoop under the basket at a good clip. Rubio cannot.
