Lance is an UFA as far as I know. But we don't have ten million in capspace anyways. Actually we have no capspace at all right now. If we can trade Asik, we'd still not have 10 million - and that would still probably not be enough. The only way would be a s&t with Indy and they wouldn't want to help us - that would be costly... And we don't need Stephenson if we got Chandler.
Really? Are u sure he isn't an unrestricted free agent? That's what I thought. If he is restricted then let's go for Marion. He can play pf better than parsons or ariza in small lineup
My apologies, you're right, his strong link to the Pacers made me think he was a RFA. Unfortunately there's not much worth while at Center or PG though, so it might be best to add another wing and then use trades or remaining exceptions to add back-up center (like Anderson or Okafor) and another PG (maybe Nash gets let go or Lull possibly).
Lance has a standing offer of 5 years / 44 million from the Pacers. We just need to beat that. Lance, to me, looks like he cares more about winning than money. If we offer him the a similar amount of money, with an opt out in 2016, I think he'd come here.
I know having that many wings seems ridiculous. But 1) you can get really creative with small front courts or big backcourts wi harden or lance ball handling 2) we need depth and these guys are all ballers 3) we can always trade them down the line
The issue with Lance isn't restricted FA. It's the fact that the Rockets don't have enough money under the cap to offer a competitive offer. Would need S&T. Would need Indy's cooperation. Not gonna happen.
Oh. And then we'd snake Cuban. If we match parsons then were the reason he missed out on carter. Let's do the same with lance or marion
Ok I missed that. How were we able to offer bosh 22 mil per then ? We got ariza for 8 per. Shouldn't we have another 12+ mil available
we could still have some money but we would need to move Asik and offer Lance a contact, all before matching Parson's tonight. Everyone keeps bring up Lance but are the Rockets even interested? Has any insiders or Twitporters mentioned the Rockets and Stevenson in any way?
Oh ok. I thought the asik trade was complete whenever morey wanted to pull the trigger on it. No no one said rockets were interested. I was just suggesting lets stack up on all the top free agents remaining and then figure out the depth and what not later. The fact that Indy only offered lance 9 mil is pretty low. Say what you want about his antics but he was the second or third best player on one of the top teams for most of the year last year. Hayward and parsons do not deserve that much more than him so if we could get him close to 10 per I would think that's a bargain.
No more of this roe4christ nonsense. Can't claim to be working for the Rockets living in Houston while posting from Indonesia.
Also we'd be back to having trade assets again. Lance is young. If we signed him to 10 or 11 per that would mean we also have the NO pick. Ariza or lance or parsons + the NO pick can probably net us something nice down the line.
Thank you Clutch. Me and a select few were trying to point out that he wasn't like Codman, Cyber, or Doc just by looking through his post history.
