I wouldn't say ignorant. He definitely has lots of BBall knowledge. It's just that he often has all these weird opinions that don't really make any sense. But he keeps forcing them on us again, and again, and again. Spoiler We Are Not Tradin... oh well...
I don't think Morey is desperate enough to give up both Capela and Jonson for anything less than a legit third star. I don't think Dragic rises to that level, nor does Bledsoe. Bledsoe would absolutely be worth Capela + Johnson + NO Pick IF he did not have questions about his health, but he does, so that's that. No insider contacts, but my hunch is that Bledsoe blinks and signs. Then the Suns trade Dragic to the highest bidder. I'm just not sure how high Morey is willing to bid. All it takes is one egomaniac owner to make an over the top offer, and it's off to plan C.
I know he gave "10 days"... but I'm wondering what the significance of that time frame is. Why is something going to be done within 10 days? Why couldn't it take 12 days? 15? How is he sure anything will happen at all? If they are negotiating, then even Morey doesn't know how it will play out.
What was "forced on us" were all these hypothetical trades of Parsons for ...... They never occurred.
I mean, it's one thing to be in the know that two teams are discussing or even negotiating trades. But insiders aren't psychics... so how does he know something will go down within 10 days? It's not like something has already happened and they are just going to release the information to the public within 10 days...
Sounds reasonable. It just doesn't look like Bledsoe has a better option. The market for him hasn't exactly been hot. No team signed him to an offer sheet like Charlotte and Dallas did with Hayward and Parsons. So, will a team now be willing to both meet Bledsoe's asking price AND give up a significant asset to PHX in S&T? His other option of accepting the $3.7M qualifying offer looks to be too big a gamble in comparison with locking in the reported $48M guaranteed from PHX. Bledsoe may be able to get more next summer, but he may also get injured or lose minutes.
For one, perhaps we knew the Love trade would be completed and that PHX was going to make a last minute push. Also, within the next 3 weeks Gee, Hopson, Capela, Johnson, and Papanikolaou are all available to be traded, so it would make some sense that a potential trade would begin to break now.
OK, 1) it looks bad when you respond to your own post 2) we were told 10 days is when the magic happens, geez dude, have a little faith
I respect you're attempting to explain why you're so confident in Rubio's ability to improve and, in your opinion, DOMINATE a game without shooting. I've seen a younger, healthier Rondo do that. Never seen Rubio do it consistently at the NBA level. I've been a hardcore fan for 40 years and we'll agree to disagree on Rubio's future. Especially the possible 40% three point shooting. If for some reason Morey acquires him, I will pull for him like I do all Rockets - but, I'm highly skeptical. There are top analysts and scouts that disagree on players every day. Just have an open mind and try to understand that while it may be true that if someone diagrees with you, they're an "average fan", it's not a guarantee they are.
I realize there are a few more than casual fans that think Rubio is a bust and will continue to be a bust. But the vast majority of fans here are that think Rubio is a bust are just casual fans that really don't value of his game nor his ongoing improvement.
I think people who think he's a total bust are wrong, but they're not completely off base. He is certainly a player who hasn't come close to living up to the hype, and with what he's valuing himself at allegedly (max contract or close to the max contract), he's easily not worth that, especially considering the assets it would take to get him. Also...I have a hard time latching on to the belief that he will drastically improve his shooting when he's statistically one of the worst shooters the game has seen. Not saying he'll stay that way, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Maybe you already answered this or said it somehow but Do you honestly believe Rubio makes the Rockets better? And he cant just simply upgrade Lin.... He needs to come in and compete against guys like Lillard, Parker, Westbrook and Paul...... Blazers, SA, OKC, Clippers are still the teams we need to beat...... If Rubio comes can he put The Rockets over the top vs those teams with above average point guards?
The suns just tried trading for Love.... Love couldn't be traded until like 2 days ago... If you trade Bledsoe to Houston, you can't offer him for Love..
