no Bledsoe does not make us a championship team. Neither does Goran. Since they don't Morey will stay with the flexibility he has now.
I'm just messing with you. A lot of people don't realize how close we are. Ariza is exactly what we needed. Harden will be a plus defender. A guy like Dragic could take us over the top. Sure, we would have a hole at the 4 potentially but I think one of the guys will prove to be decent. You cant have studs at every position. Howard is so good and a game changer in a 7 game series. Harden can't go in a shooting slump at the wrong time like last season.
lol I figured. The big question is at the 4 right now. If TJ makes a leap in his game we are past the 1st round and maybe more. If he makes at least a modest step up then we may get past the 1st round. The guard spots are of a less concern.
Adding Bledsoe or Dragic would give us a contending core. We would need to find some more role players around them is all.
I think either would make us very good, especially since we also still have the Lin TPE to take on some power forward making up to $8.3 million. Besides, eff flexibility. I'm getting sick of the word. I hope Morey doesn't want to waste two more seasons hoping Durant comes here. He can't always hit a home run. (*cough* Bosh! *cough*)
Just dropping this here since it's really the only active thread. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>And the Rockets, somehow, have the lowest line of opening night at -5 at LA.</p>— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) <a href="https://twitter.com/HPbasketball/statuses/501827397042577409">August 19, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
So the player we are acquiring plays on the RIGHT side of the court, is the VERY SECOND best at his position and Morey is willing to give up ANYTHING. Goran?
lol I agree but to get one of them ties the cap up. It will be the team that is set for years to come. Dragic or Bledsoe is not championship caliber. Now if the team could get a Bosh or LMA or any top of the line big PF that brings defense and offense then that is a championship core. Morey will not go after a player unless it is the key core player or a very team friendly contract to maintain flexibility. So any and every trade has to be looked at through this context. Dragic or Bledsoe fails these requirements.
The one and only complaint I've had about Goran is that his game is so similar to Harden's that I wonder if it wouldn't be better to bring in a different dynamic like Bledsoe. Where Harden's game is more finesse, Bledsoe's is based on athleticism. That said, Bledsoe is not a guy that has proven he can run an offense like Dragic can. If you get Bledsoe, you definitely want to add a PG/combo guard off the bench that can do some of the setup work......someone like Sergio Llull. I still prefer Goran for his more diversified and disciplined game. He allows you to give Harden plenty of rest and he should be able to play effectively with Daniels and Beverley.
Here is something I could see: K. Pop T. Jones NO #1 Pick (NG filler) for Rondo Bass (via TPE) Faverani (via TPE) Rondo / Beverley / Cannan Harden / Daniels / Johnson Ariza / (Cisco) Bass / Motiejunas / Covington Howard / Faverani / Capella
lol Doesn't have to be Durant to put the team over the top. Unfortunately top of the line big PF's are hard to get. Teams tend to hold on to them and pay dearly. Morey is just trying to get one that appears to come here. One will eventually or TJ steps up his game and solidifies that 4 spot.
