No really. Raps' pick was #8. Pelican's pick should be around #12. They may even crawl into playoffs if stars are lined up right.

The Raps pick ended up being #12.

The pick did have a more favorable protection setup than the Pelicans pick. But if we look at it at the time of the Harden trade, the Raptors pick's expected value really isn't hugely different than that of the Pelicans pick. With the addition of Lowry, we were expecting the Raptors to be a low-lottery team with a chance at making the playoffs given the weakness of the East (thus the "downside protection"). Pelicans probably have the same expected outcome for next year-- they are a more talented team, but also play in a FAR tougher conference. If the Pelicans do make the playoffs, the pick will likely be in the 20s and the downside protection means that NOP keeps the pick and the Rockets (or whoever owns the pick) gets another chance at a lotto pick next season (if, say, health issues again strikes their key players-- don't take much to put a West team in the lottery nowadays).

They picked the wrong guy (even that is too early to say) doesn't mean the pick is bad. Who's to say whoever ends up with Pelican's pick won't pick an even worse bust?

Oops. I stand corrected. For some reason I always thought the pick was #8. But regardless, I don't think the pelican's pick will be better than #12. So at best it's a wash.

Actually Steven Adams may be the best thing they got out of the deal. He is a big man with talent. Still not a fair trade, but at least he's got potential.

That was a great pick by OKC. I'd love to have the guy on the Rockets backing up Dwight. Very solid big man.

I said....contributing members should be able to neg rep members...

Here, I'll spell it out for you

Contributing members should be able to neg rep non-contributing members.

As in I should be able to neg rep you. Make a contribution. It's the least you can do for us to have to read your drivel.

Plowman, you sharing what you've heard - and obviously BELIEVE - is MUCH appreciated by the majority here. Don't let a few cynical know-it-all-armchair-gm-Monday-morning-QB's get to you or stop you from keeping us posted on what's going on.

The fact that you've been on the site for FIFTEEN YEARS, have averaged around one post per day, and obviously aren't BSing means something to most of us. It's really not that difficult to tell LEGITIMATE people and what they've heard from those who simply make stuff up. However, a few morons simply fail to look at everything from all angles to see that it's possible that not only could you be right, but it might make sense. (nah, Dragic is a two guard, though, and they can win with that...)

The facts that have been pointed out by many such as the payroll and drafting committed to the PG position, they'll have a decision to make much like Morey would've on Patterson, the GM came from the same circles as Morey, that first round lottery picks are EXTREMELY valued by GM's, the Morris twins are NOT true power forwards (esp Marcus), T. Jones had a PER of nearly 20 and is only 21, and that there are FEW teams that would even want to give up assets for Dragic at this time due to their own PG situation are all but ignored. Why? Because we don't believe it's possible anyone could actually come on here and share what they've heard.

Hell, Cyber was doubted for the longest time. He had to give us early info at least three times before the majority here believed he actually had access to information. Notice I didn't say "insider". That in itself I feel is ridiculous. Is it possible that of the 50,000 members on Clutchfans that one or two actually have friends or family that hears things from within the organization? And they might actually share it here? Oh no, of course not. Come on, man.

Of course it's possible and those are extremely low odds, yet it's very likely.

But...but... it can't be true. There hasn't been ONE leak by any "real" insider. No one ANYWHERE has reported ANYTHING about it. Really? Wow. Are you guys real Rockets fans. Name ONE TRADE Morey has made that was "reported" on BEFORE hand. None. They've all come out of left field and surprised the hell out of us. We won't mention the fact that it was REPORTED that Indiana attempted to engage Phoenix in trade talks for Dragic. Now, why would they do that... if there's NO WAY Phoenix would want to deal him now, or explore that possibility? Hmmm.... So, Morey doesn't jump in, or wasn't already in that mix?

I don't know if I want us to get Dragic more for the fact he'll help the team or just so some of the idiots will feel stupid for being so close minded, cynical and negative.

Can I ask how confidence you are in the person you've heard this from? Has he given you similar info in the past that has come to fruition?

I for one am appreciative of the fact you chose this time to share something you've heard. Lord knows us TRUE Rocket fans need it. Oh, and if nothing happens, don't worry. Other than a few that will continue to bust you up, most of us understand how things work and that nothing is guaranteed or a sure thing when it comes to these types of things. THANK YOU again!

****s sake, stop arguing about who should neg rep who

Don't care if you call them ones or Haren or Coward, or even criticize comments with rampant stupidity, but the battle for who has the smallest dick needs to end

There has been more legitimate Rocket insider info leaked here than anywhere else.

And it's been that way for years.

I haven't read enough of this thread to know whether okeezie has merited your wrath. Perhaps he warrants your stern tone.

But he IS right about your incessant "Terrence _ones" routine. It was mildly charming the first 4-5 times you did it. Now, it is just annoying. We get it. His outside shot leaves much to be desired.

So, I ask you kindly, will you please cease and desist the _ones nonsense?

I would much rather you focus on your otherwise (mostly) insightful and inventive posts about basketball and such.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
