Ah, to be young, cynical, and think you know every godd*** thing. How I miss it. Enjoy it, it doesn't last forever. Me, of course I'm hoping something good happens (even though I know we'll have to wait a month or two, thanks to league rules about when contracts can be traded), not just for the good of the team (can you really believe Morey will stand pat now?) but also because I want to watch you non-believers crawl back into your holes. Because when the time comes, you sure won't post "well, I was wrong". Common sense? "common sense" http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/common+sense noun sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge, training, or the like; normal native intelligence. Let's try: "fallacy" http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fallacy?s=t noun, plural fal·la·cies. 1. a deceptive, misleading, or false notion, belief, etc.: That the world is flat was at one time a popular fallacy. 2. a misleading or unsound argument. 3. deceptive, misleading, or false nature; erroneousness. 4. Logic. any of various types of erroneous reasoning that render arguments logically unsound. Going back to common sense: Dragic will command 15 million dollars per season; Bledsoe wants the same; they drafted a point guard and signed another at $8 million per. That's a lot of money tied up in the PG position, even if you want to call Dragic a shooting guard. Sure Dragic wants to be an All Star. But he wouldn't achieve that here? If the Rockets kick butt he might. And this one was my favorite: Dragic doesn't want to chase a ring? That means Dragic doesn't care about winning a ring. And when did he tell you this? There's no certainty we'll get Dragic, but you can bet Morey will try, and it isn't as if it's impossible.
Basic common sense says that spending that much money on bledsoe, dragic, and thomas isn't a title contender (and barely a playoff team)
seriously who would want to pay Thomas/Dragic/Bledsoe all that money??? that would be insane... 3 small guards getting most of your money? Thats not even a playoff team
Atleast we Know One thing - The Rockets visited Lowry first (Therefore they are clearly looking to upgrade the PG Position) - so Maybe this Dragic thing does have some legs to it
Of course it does. We're set at positions 2,3, and 5. We can only really upgrade 1 and 4. Dragic has been here, so we know what he's about and how he thinks. Dragic is 28. Bledsoe is 24 and Thomas is 25. Does Dragic make more sense here or in Phoenix? The Suns were looking to go after the big names and they struck out. It wouldn't be surprising to see them go in a different direction now and save some money for a younger star who plays in the frontcourt. Getting guys like Jones and/or Dmo to add to their frontcourt core of Len, Morris, and Plumlee greatly increases their chances at locking in the rotation at the 4 or 5. Maybe Both. It makes complete sense for them to trade Dragic now and commit to the younger core. the only problem is that he's a fan favorite, but business is business. They already traded him once.
This is a little out there, but I could see PHX trading Isaiah Thomas once they are allowed to. They could've seen his pretty cheap deal (in this market) as an asset and decided to pull him in, and then see what they can get. In other words, I think they're shopping whatever the best deal is they can get for any of the three guards. That said, trading an older Dragic to see what young talent they can acquire and develop while they wait out the roided up West for a couple of years could definitely be possible.
Even if Plowman is totally legit, nothing is ever a sure thing in the NBA. I highly doubt that ANYTHING is a sure thing regarding this offseason, especially a potential deal for a difference maker at PG. Even in the small chance that the Rockets actually have something lined up now, there are a gazillion things that can happen in the next few months, weeks or even days that will change everything. It's important that everyone here take everything with a HUGE grain of salt, especially regarding "insider" info, no matter how legit the poster is. I remain skeptical but hopeful that we acquire another strong player between now and the beginning of the season, whether it's at PG or another position. I know that it's unlikely however, that is the nature of things.
Half of Plowman's rumor was already proven impossible, yet people continue to believe the first half... Why?
PHX doesn't even have a clue how the Bledsoe situation is going to be resolved, but they're so enamored with the poor, redundant assets the Rockets have to offer that they're going to agree to a one sided deal for their best player regardless? And they're going to be asking for a suprisingly small return. And the deal might also solve the hole at the four. Doesn't pass the smell test.
Not really. Wasn't it just about the extension? They could have a verbal agreement (and probably will) if the Rockets are to trade for him so they know he won't be a one year rental.
Bledsoe could be the one who will be available? http://www.csnnw.com/nba/sources-suns-relationship-star-eric-bledsoe-verge-irreparable
For the win yes please keep your negative thought process to yourself. If you don't trust him stop reading the thread.
Dragic signing a long term extension as soon as he is traded to the Rockets. That's not even possible by the rules of the CBA. But people will continue to conveniently ignore this.
