    No it makes us smart.

Regardless of how good (or average) a player is, if said player will put you over the top and make you an instant FAVORITE, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to get that player. And that was Morey's thinking. Bosh in a vacuum is not worth the max, but considering where he would've put us, he was absolutely worth the max.

And yes, Miami gave him the max, because if not he was leaving. (henceforth desperate)

That's all fine and well, I'm just saying that Rondo would add to what has already been built here. Stats are great, but as we know, they're still one of three types of lies (Lies, damn lies, and statistics) when context and actual results aren't taken into consideration. Anyone who's watched this team over the last two years knows that their two biggest problems on offense have been: execution during pivotal situations and turnovers. And if Rondo has proven anything in this league it's that he can execute an offense and protect the ball.

When I mentioned efficiency earlier it was in the context of how the team is using James Harden. When it comes to setting up the offense, taking the ball out of his would be a good thing. His play making wouldn't go away, nor would the eurostep, nor the iso's entirely... However, execution would be more crisp and turnovers would go down with Rondo at the controls.

The offense would more balanced and essentially better. Adding Rondo doesn't subtract away what makes the Rockets' offense efficient, it increases it.

    Wait, wait, hold up.

You don't mean to say that all those people in Miami would prefer hitting the beach and the clubs than watching an Eastern Conference team languish?!

He will still be a 35-year old making 27M$.

Funny thing about the Heat season ticket holders is they are getting screwed by the 3 year contract some signed to lock up cheaper season tickets LOL.

This was the list of Miami's 1st three priorities:
    1. Get Lebron resigned.
    2. Get another primeire scorer/player to join(ie Melo)
    3. Force DWade and Bosh and others to take paycuts by opting out.

Miami was never trying to pay Bosh max. And he knew it. Period. Knowing all that information, why would it even make sense for Bosh to opt out if he was standing to lose 10-15 million for his 14-15 salary? Bosh's desire was to play with Lebron and was willing to do anything to make that work. If not he was content in getting a max deal; and only one such team offered him that: Houston.

But once Miami saw Lebron was leaving, Bosh was ready to take a max offer from Houston.

If you are at a company that is losing star recruits, current employees look for alternatives and submit applications outside to get out of a sinking ship. And they always take the best financial offer. But if that boss hoping to minimize damage to his company...called you into his office and offered you almost 1000% more than what you are currently making just so you wont leave...I can guarantee you would sign that contract faster than blinking your eye.

This is what happened with Bosh...creating a leverage story or far fetched stories just isnt factual to what happened on July 11th, 2014.

Thats it guy. Theres no more trade talks. We sunk as low as Ramon Sessions. People wonder why there's so much negativity because it's the same rollercoaster. Expect to be out in the 1st round again.

Bledsoe and PHX are holding things up is the latest news they say, once that gets resolved, this thread will take off again.

    You need inside, information
Information at a very high price
    She gives you inside, information
That can change your whole life overnight,

    Watch your mouth, Jack@$$!

This site has been a part of my life for the better part of two decades. So, think for a second....In all that time, I have NEVER gone out on a limb like this. I hear things.....but have ALWAYS kept them off the board. Under the present circumstances though, an exception needed to be made. And if I have to endure a certain amount of BS from bottom dwellers such as yourself and others fine. For I find it imperative that our collective morale not get too low....in fact we need to keep things in perspective. It's obviously tough as Morey positioned us right where we needed to be. Bosh just bailed on us.....
I agree that it's important to be grounded in realism, but not cynicism....Just like it's important to keep hope alive...realistic hope. That is what I bring you.
News that the PG position WILL be upgraded in high fashion (and my peeps tell me it's GD).....
I've never claimed to be an "insider" or wanted the title. I have nothing to gain here. Actually, there's a ton more downside risk in sharing this.....
But, screw it...It's worth it......WE NEED IT!

The cap goes up almost every year but max salaries are dependent on factors other than the salary cap, for example every team has the same salary cap but Chandler Parsons has a different max salary than Chris Bosh. What this means is although Bosh's salary won't be as bad because Miami would have more space to sign role players in 2019, the way we look at Bosh's contract won't change as his 27M salary would be still be compared to others who are just as good or even better but aren't making 27M (ie James Harden and Dwight Howard).

And you think if Miami had other willing FAs they can sign they will give Chris Bosh 27M for 5 years? Bosh had his worst statistical seasons last two years, in game 7 last year he had 0 pts and this year he sucked the entire playoffs. Is that a logical target for a super max 5 year deal unless Miami was desperate?

Is the Bledsoe restricted free agency situation holding up our deal for Dragic?
