This. It was never about winning. Why Morey and a lot of people got fooled was to think that Melo valued winning over all else.
Just like the saying goes, you can't win the lottery unless you play. The odds are low and the investment is just as much. No harm in trying.
People thought that because he SHOULD have left ny. Basically conceding your 29 and 30 year old prime seasons on a non contender tells me everything i need to know about melo
Its 1 thing to spend $1 on a ticket. Its another to sell your car and used all that to buy lotto tickets and not win.
If you're referring to Lin and Asik, I'm sorry but Lin's hardly a "car" and we got a decent pick for Asik and superstar Alonzo Gee.
Morey always knew Anthony was a long shot. However he knew little was lost trying. Love was never a serious option, the Rockets were low on assets after getting Howard and Harden the previous two seasons. I don't really blame Morey for anything other than letting Parsons out of his deal early and I am pretty sure that was a condition of Howard signing.
My sources say something will happen when it happens. Thats like the same crap every other "insider" says.
My insider just slapped me and said: STOP FEKING ASKING ME FOR UPDATE AND WAIT FOR A WOJ TWEET JUST LIKE I AM.
Someone I hear close to Melo said that Melo did a lot of this just to pressure Phil into panic to make things happen. Can't confirm it first hand, but this is something that I was told today.
