I'd be open to trading something like Prigs and Nick J. for Augustin. Then go another wing with Pap, Jones, picks. However, if Smoove bolts then that makes it a lot more difficult to trade Terrence.
Teams have until the trade deadline or thereabouts to get under the tax, correct? Don't see any reason why OKC would be in a hurry to unload DJ for nothing, especially after just losing their backup PG.
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3415/dj-augustin DJ's stats are only slightly worse than Beverley's with less minutes http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3964/patrick-beverley
Slightly worse than Beverley, a player that most would consider a mediocre at best offensive player... Like I said, for free? Sure. Needle mover? Not at all.
LOL, Thunder are not going to help us out. Move on, nothing to see here. Plenty of teams would be interested in Perry and DJ.
yes they have until february. Plenty of time to both get as much from their players AND later go under the tax. It's exactly like Philly is doing only the opposite ( reaching the salary floor without having to pay salaries for full year).
Yes, he had a good game against the Rockets on the last night of 4 games in 5 days, without Dwight Howard....that's absolutely enough to overlook the rest of his career. I mean, he's alright I guess, but there's nothing special about him.
Minny doesn't have capspace to fill a poison pill. I think we are looking at Dallas Utah and Denver (if they get rid of Foye)
He shot 41% from 3 for the Bulls the season before last. He's a quality backup PG who would fit well with the Rockets. I'd much rather have him taking those minutes than Terry. Like I said, there's no excuse for Morey to not do a Papa-for-DJ deal unless OKC simply refuses to send him here or he has a much better deal(i.e. Lawson, Lowry, Collison, Bledsoe) lined up.
DJ and Bev would make a great 1-2 punch at PG. Both do different things to complement each other. Both good shooters to.
Mediocre for a starter? For a backup? He's pretty good. There aren't a lot of backup PGs i would rank higher than him.
