lol But Broussard got exposed in this saga and good. I hope he gets fired it was about time. He is a huge joke.
All it could take is a good showing in Summer League to spark a trade. That's what happened when we traded for Artest. Donte Greene had one breakout Summer League game and was traded 2 weeks later.
Canaan was awful. It's not a loss at all. I don't understand how ppl here thought he was good at all. Dekker can be a tradechip just fine. Even better than Jones tbh because he has 4 cheap years of team control instead of entering free agency and having to get paid.
Why are people worried about McDaniels getting 12 per? I'm almost certain that he can't get more than the MLE... which means that we can match anything as long as we don't use our MLE for anything else (like Smoove). So essentially, Cuban can have Smoove, but if he does that, all indications are that we'll keep KJ no matter what. If he drives the price of Smoove up, then we're less likely to (be able to) match on KJ b/c we would have to dig into our MLE to pay Smoove what he wants (unless he's cool and just takes the 2.5mil). I honestly think that if Cuban really wants Smoove he'll have to offer a pretty significant pay raise over Houston. I also think that Morey is willing to let him walk. I think Cuban is actually more interested in KJ.
This is absolutely hilarious. I knew right away when Broussard tweeted about him driving in DALLAS he was full of s#$%. And Cuban not knowing DJ's address is laughable. You are talking about one of the pioneers of the tech industry not being able to locate a pretty well known local athlete whom his best bud agent represents??? You have to be joking me. Why would Cuban text DJ's family anyways. All he had to do was text Fegan his butt buddy. Broussard needs to go.
Isn't it great to think that the Rockets actually have more young promising talent than the Mavs too (especially if they keep KJ). Capela, DMO, TJones, NJ, Dekker, Harrell, and also potentially Wood. You could argue DMO and TJones aren't young but one is 24 and the other is 23. Not to mention we still have all of our first round picks and 2 seconds next year. Morey has put together a contending roster, will have enough room to chase big FA's next offseason, and plenty of assets to improve the team.
how did heat get green for vet min when he's a 37% three point shooter 15per solid D & we signed brewer 26% 3pt shooter 13per good D for $7mill a yr ?
gerald green signed for vet min? wow that's one of the best bargains in this offseason. Riley magic I guess.
Because like Cyberx said, Morey is sad and focused on his table tennis backhand. I kid, but something must either be brewing that's bigger or no one wants to sign or deal with the Rockets. Rather choose to believe something else is being worked on because being landlocked with the current roster doesn't engender warm fuzzy feelings for the season.
well $8mill a year brewer.. here is the link http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-heat/sfl-miami-heat-gerald-green-s070915-story.html
Rodney Stuckey, Leandro Barbosa, Ed Davis etc. signed for minimum. Mo Williams, Darren Collison, Evan Turner signed for less than full MLE. And what did Morey do? He gave the entire MLE to freaking Papanikolaou and signed a bunch of scrubs who couldn't even make the team. He also let go of Covington and Black to retain Garcia and Dorsey. His laid-back approach directly resulted in a super thin bench at the beginning of the season. I still remember how pathetic our bench was! Had to rely on Terry to score while the others can't even make a layup. Fortunately we still won a lot of games at the beginning of the season with that cupcake schedule. The Brew trade was the only good trade he made the entire season. He was also very lucky to have Josh. Most of his acquisition were awful but Josh really saved his ass. Then at the deadline, Mo Williams, D.J. Augustine, Reggie Jackson, Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas were traded and he couldn't land one. Mo Williams and Isaiah Thomas got traded for basically trash, Morey could have easily top those offer. And heck, if he went all in he could even acquire Dragic. Not only didn't he brought us a legit PG, but also weakened the position. Why the hell did he traded Canaan for KJ?? There's no doubt in my mind Canaan was a better player than Prigioni. And he could have helped us in the playoffs. Canaan was not a playmaking PG but he's an elite shooter. Unlike Prigioni, he could go off for 20+ point when he got hot. Prigioni was just bad, really bad. He's smart he rarely made stupid turnovers, but he was simply not skilled. He may be a good passer, but when you can't shoot, drive and defend, you really don't have much to bring to the table. Canaan at least can give us some shooting and scoring. K.J. may be a better player than Canaan down the road. But my point is, we are trying to win the title, but Morey's plan is always about future, not present. I know y'all people will point at trade deadline and say there's still a lot of time. But there's no guarantee. You've said it yourself, other teams want to keep their good players. What if we strike out again? Dwight's prime is short we can't afford waiting! What pissed me off is there are a lot of cheap options out there that can help us immediately. And we're saving that MLE for freaking KJ whose ass is very likely to be buried at the end of the bench. I know we made the WCF but we can't get complacent. Basically every team in the West has gotten better, even the champ has tweak their roster. We really need another GM. I am tired of this bull****. I just want us to go all in for once.
I'm sure the Spurs or Mavs would happily embrace your candid attitude if you don't like how this is being run. Fact is we went from a lottery team to the WCF in 3 years. Trust your GM.
Probably Morey wants to aim for guys already on a contract so they have no choice but to stay here, like it or not. Generally when players wind up on a contender it's "like". It's not as if we had beaucoup cap space this year anyway. So it has to be a trade.
Kind of shows what the league thinks of Green when he is signing for the vet minimum.. But great signing for the Heat with a solid off-season for them.. But once again.. you don't win championships in the off-season. Just crazy last year the biggest move Golden State did last year was get Kerr as the head coach an more importley keep Thompson and not trade him for Love... Huge for them... So lets wait and see what the Rockets look like by trade deadline next year.. rather than Mid July..
