So the mavs need to be one of the 7 worst teams in the league this season or else they lose their pick that they traded for Rondo. I think Smoove would keep them on the treadmill. At this point we should be rooting for a delusional/stubborn retool than a full blown tank.

I am hearing Smith to Mavs may very well happen.

In fairness Smith was 2nd string, but yeah, not really a "game over man" sort of situation.

They have some [reportedly] $20M in cap room so they can make him a nice offer, if they so wish.

They'd probably need to offer him more than that to kill any chance of him winning a championship.

Cuban is in a bad mood so he'll throw money at our guys to spite us. Seems petty for a billionaire.

As the self-proclaimed leader of the Josh Smith bandwagon...this would be saddening. If the Mavs want to overpay for yet another Rockets role player, though...who am I to do anything but laugh?

The Mavs losing out on DAJ and overpaying Josh Smith as a knee jerk reaction would make it even funnier. Smith is very solid as a bench guy, but let's not go crazy.

    Of course he will.

For a guy who loves to rag on a GM for putting together a "team that isn't very good over there", he loves going after ex-Rockets every chance he gets.

I wouldn't even be mad at Josh for taking the money. But I doubt he would want to play for the team that we demolished a month ago.
