Well, maybe Miami can take Papa and Prigs, waiving their salaries, and those dudes can facilitate a trade to another team.

    Maybe?

    Woulda coulda shoulda?

He expires and can be stretched. Lee can't.

I just asked this in the David Lee thread. But what does stretched mean in this sense?

Josh's decision is kind of a big deal at this point, yes? I wonder if they have the balls to move TJ if he doesn't re-sign.

Ugh @ Jet. Sucks to know he'd rather be in Dallas, but I understand it.

you take his salary and pay a portion of it every season up to 7 years. It's waht Detroit did with Smith and Mil with Sanders. It's in the new cba.

exactly. This should be the focus of interest and worry right now. Not Brooks or Terry.
I sure hope he returns. But I believe TJ will get traded anyway. We have a deal lined up.

I don't see how they could move Jones if Smith doesn't resign. They have to protect themselves with D-Mo coming off of back surgery and Dwight's knee still a question mark. That's one of the biggest reasons I want Smith back. It makes Jones expendable.

agreed, this is the linch pin and probably why people are frustrated no moves have been made. The situation with Smith determines what we can do with Jones.

Agree. I might think differently if DMo were 100%, and even then it'd be risky. Our PG prospects look pretty grim if Josh walks, I think.

if we wanted smith back by all costs we would have offered him already something the Clippers don't have. the full mle. But we don't.

I don't know what Morey has planned at all but I hope we don't move Capela. To me he and Harden are our untouchables. I'd move Howard for good value before I gave up on Capela. I think he's going to be much more valuable to us down the line than anything he could bring back in a trade right now. I'm all for an upgrade. If we have to lose Ariza or D-Mo in the process, I'm okay with that because you have to give to get. I just hope we hang on tight to Capela.

Damn. I wanted Terry back. The last thing this team needs is LESS shooters...

Agreed on Capela being close to untouchable.

Maybe its just me, but there seems to be an unofficial Wade/Rose-like agreement that the Rockets are okay with Dwight being essentially a part-time player and saving himself for the postseason.

I'd be surprised if Dwight ever plays a full 82-game season ever again. So you definitely need a dependable rim-protector and big to fall back on. Especially, during the regular season.

Another news that put Josh Smith close to resign

    Shams Charania ‏@ShamsCharania
Free agent forward Wesley Johnson will commit to a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources tell RealGM. Terms being discussed.

Im scared we reached our peak in the WCF. Khloe is about to turn Harden into a maniac and soon enough he will go to Lakers. Which makes me sad. And rockets are getting worse this offseason as every team is getting better.
Lets keep smoove, terry, add Jordan Hill Nd trade for Collison and call it an offseason. I think we hit our peak but we need some new talent to overcome some new obstacles. People think Cle vs sas is a pregone conclusion. Harden should be working on his game a bit more. Dwights getting old we realistically have a 2 year window unless we get another star.

He sucked most of the regular season. I lost count of how many 0-4 or 1-5 games he had. But he was pretty good in the playoffs against Dallas and had a few decent moments against the Clippers and Warriors. The main reason to keep Terry is for his veteran leadership and to play him in limited minutes. The guy is still a clutch shooter especially in the postseason.
