Yes. He said the Rockets had a meeting planned in LA with LaMarcus Aldridge days before anybody even knew any teams had meetings set with Aldridge and before anybody knew Morey was going to chase Aldridge.
biyombo off the market at a BAARGAIN. this takes an option out of the spurs. Can't believe he accepted only 3 per. wow.
So when we make moves, the Spurs are better because of continuity. But when the Spurs make moves, they're better because of them, continuity be damned. If we bring back smith, we're the better team. Their bench can't compete.
I think the point KlutchQT is trying to make is that it's not helpful to this board and how well informed it is if/when you pass of information you might have read somewhere as fact. Posts like that have a way of misinforming the general public here and take on a life of their own. In the future just say you think you heard somewhere instead of being definitive about it. Just sayin....
I honestly don't think it was about Parsons all that much. Dude is from Texas, he wanted to come back to Texas. He didn't get along with CP3 that well. They got embarrassed in the playoffs by a team everyone thought they would easily beat. Finally Dallas fed him the same BS they gave Parson "You will be the Franchise player". Also Texas is tax free and he didn't lose any money coming to Texas I believe, the odds were in Dallas's favor.
I wouldn't say that Lin IMO isn't worth more than 2mil and the mavs give him the best opportunity to play/start on a playoff team. Parsons being his buddy doesn't hurt either.
I'm interested to see him pull somebody who wasn't already publicly unhappy in their current situation. Right now, he's kinda like the guy who starts hovering when you and your bf are on the rocks.
We only own his non-bird rights. We can only sign him up to 2.49 million without using the MLE. You can not sign a player with the MLE in a S&T deal. As such, you can do a sign and trade if he agrees to 2.49 million or less. I don't see any scenario that Josh is willing to sign with any team other than the Rockets for 2.49 million or less. Do you think Josh would be willing to accept 2.49 million dollar contract in a S&T deal?
he is a hard bargainer but he is not so smart. He did got 10000 pgs and traded a lottery only top 3 protected pick for Knight. He also signed too many ..volatile characters.
A lot of garbage in the last 5-10 pages. NO! DMO is not better than Aldridge... he will NEVER be as good as Aldridge is right now. DMO is not a starter on a championship caliber team... JUST STOP IT! There is a reason Morey wanted an upgrade at PF. Resigning Patrick Beverly for $5,250,000 a season does not mean he is destined to be a starter for the Rockets. There is zero basis for this. The Rockets know they need an upgrade at PG. When one is available the Rockets will not hesitate to move Beverly to the bench.
I think maybe he could get more than 2 mil elsewhere, but you're right -- he def wouldn't be starting on a playoff team. I honestly think he would be a good fit in Dallas, though. That starting lineup needs some offense.
