I'm so desperate to have Dragic back. Replacing 1 Chandler Parsons with a Trevor Ariza and Goran Dragic would solidify that Morey is playing chess while the rest of the executives are playing checkers.

Of course, Morey isn't respected around the league so no doubt he'd finish 9th in executive of the year award voting again...

What I'm, in essence saying..is that I was a little pissed when I wrote that...and then...the cat was out of the bag.

Almost everything I hear over the years has been communicated via email to friends and vice versa....

This time it came out...on stage.

    So, there you have it.

There's an oddity on this board. When we were overperforming to come 9th, people were complaining non stop about how much being in limbo sucks. But when another team is in limbo, they're thrilled to be there. Being 9th with a best player 28+ is literally the worst place in the nba.

Thanks for everything Plowman, you're appreciated here on CF.

Everyone else needs to calm down. We're going to be OK. Stressing out on here doesn't help Morey do his thing. Save yourself the stress and trust the man.

So that explains why your "he's going to sign a long term extension on arrival!" information was factually impossible?

It is a call to arms. It is a call to those who found life with a Dream shooting a three to cap off a second championship run and died at a Stockton shot. Found hope in the drafting of Yao Ming but mourned when the man couldn't even walk on the court anymore. The echoes of a Heart of a championship still beat through the streets of Houston's downtown, screams from the Summit and shines on our championship banners. It is for those who "still Believe" in Rockets Red and Gold. We have two building blocks for a Championship team. That enough will take us to the playoffs. But if anyone believes that Morey is going to roll into this season with a " mediocre lineup" then they are just flat out stupid. Things are happening and alot of times deals fall flat or get prolonged because of greed or just wanting to maximize everyone's return. It by no means is a green light for a bunch of new comers to get on this board and **** on these people trying to provide a glimmer of hope or possible information. If people want to discuss what is on Yahoo or ESPN all day long, then they can join those boards too. The question people should really be asking Drew right now is what the hell is the hold up instead of ripping him a new *******. Same goes with Doc and CyberX, who have been kind enough to make this board Special by throwing at us the speculations behind the scenes. People like them are what made this board special. This site is for those who want to know transactions before they occur or are in the process of development. It is where we rally to cheer without discrimination because we all have one common love which is our Rockets. It is where we save on our franchise from moving to another city and plan ourselves a rally to fight for our team. I have definitely not forgotten. Has everyone else forgotten? Maybe they need a reminder from the tinman or some other old faithfuls on this board.
Everyone on this site will agree that this roster doesn't feel complete. It doesn't feel right because we are going to make moves. The assets will be traded until Dwight and Harden have the proper tools to succeed. Mark Cuban can go F*** himself. He has no right to talk **** about what Morey is doing because he did the same damn thing for years. The only difference is Morey is smart enough to not to overpay the assets. For years Cuban paid top dollar for borderline stars and kept trading them off for even more expensive overpaid borderline stars sometimes even going the luxury tax without even winning a ring. The only chemistry that piece of **** is building is the stuff he smokes. He is not fooling anyone. He'll trade Parsons if he can get something better in return. It is just the nature of the beast. We'll make those boys in Dallas and San Antonio bow to the men of this great city and franchise once again. BELIEVE IT!
Believe that the trades will happen soon. Les and Morey maybe cheap. But they are not r****ded. They are not going to handicap themselves but they are going to make the right moves before we start the season. We are going to have the right pieces to go to war. Believe it folks. It is happening. The city and this team is Hungry. Les is hungry. It will happen!
Clutch City and Clutchfans was made by believers. Those who don't respect that can take the exit door with the Lin fans. Championships and respect is earned not given to us on a silver platter. We will gain both of those again barring any injury. This organization has never feared to pull the trigger on a trade that will take us to the promise land and I can guarantee they are working around the clock to make it happen NOW and not soon or later.

To me, the Suns' situation with Dragic is fairly similar to what the Rockets had in Kyle Lowry.

The Rockets had a really talented player in Lowry, one that they would trust to be one of the featured stars of a contending team. In fact, the Rockets planned on building such a contending team featuring Lowry as a star when they traded for Paul Gasol and pursued Nene in free agency. Obviously the veto happened and Nene returned to Denver, but the team was gonna for it with these guys back in 2011.

However, after another season in which Lowry played very well (18.8 PER, +3.1 RAPM) but the team failed to add stars around him and finished in 9th place again, Morey traded Lowry for the Toronto "guaranteed lottery pick."

It wasn't because Morey didn't believe that Lowry could be a foundation piece to a contending team (in fact, Morey believes in Lowry to this day and pursued him in free agency), it's just that the team couldn't add other elite players to build a contending team featuring Lowry and Morey determined that the Rockets are better off cashing in on the value of Lowry's very team friendly contract when there are still 2 years left on it and exchange Lowry for an asset that maintains value better and is more liquid in the trade market.

PHX most likely sees Dragic as a potential star on a contending team-- they were reportedly trying to persuade Lebron and Melo to sign there as free agents and build a contending team with Lebron, Melo, Dragic and Bledsoe. But despite having a ton of cap space and having talent in Dragic and Bledsoe, PHX didn't manage to land any of the big name guys that signed this summer (they are reported to be considering making an offer to restricted free agent Monroe, but Detroit probably just matches anyway). And with Dragic only having 1 year left before hitting unrestricted free agency (player option), if they can't become a contender before Dragic hits the market and gets pursued by multiple teams throwing big $ at him, they'll have to consider the choice that Morey made with Lowry.

I completely agree with you on that Carl. Either Dragic or Bledsoe will go. Whether they come to Houston is yet to be determined. We may end up with just going to Boston and trading for Rondo but at the end it makes sense that we are actively negotiating with Phoenix for either one of them and why Phoenix would be willing to part with one of them. I think Drew is on to something but there is just alot of holdup due to greed probably by both parties. Heck look at Minnesota. They know Love will be gone after the season is over. Yet they still insist that getting a stud like Wiggins in return is not enough. Just stupid sometimes.

That's how i feel as well, my sig at the time was "sink or swim, stop treading water" in regards to how sick of coming 9th i was. Then he went and flipped lowry, amnestied scola, let dragic go and signed lin and i felt we were finally on our way to tanking. Asik i honestly had no clue about, but he was a center so i figured if he panned out, he could be flipped due to their market, and done early to minimize the poison pill and maximize our draft pick.

Also when Phoenix let Frye go over a cpl million (which reminds me a bit of Scola as well, not as a player but as a function of their winning), the most important part of their spacing was gone so it hardly feels like a team that's building towards winning with their current roster, McDon might not use that evil word flexibility, but that's exactly what it was.

This is exactly the reason why im not bashing Drew, and said I will give it some time before passing out judgement. If it doesnt work out (he said its pretty much a done deal we are getting Dragic, but want Bledsoe), I will surely have a few words to say about him before putting him on my ignore list and unfollowing him on twitter. But I would atleast give it a chance to pan out to see if there was ever any substance to it. Trades always take time, specially if there is no deadline nearing. Teams want to shop around to get best value.

If we end up getting Dragic (or in a highly unlikely scenario Bledsoe), then you and Drew would be established as legit insiders. If not, oh well. It was fun while it lasted:). Please ignore all bashers and continue posting any info you receive from your connections. I will continue to treat everything you say as legit inside info until you are proven wrong.

One more thing to add to newAge, Plowman. Use your ignore button. I've started using mine over the last few months. It makes life a lot easier. You don't have to deal with the trash. Keep posting.
