The fear was always that Dragic would opt-in and destroy any cap room that may have been available, i.e. it takes the power out of Morey's hands. If Dragic opts in I will put $250 in the tip jar. It makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE for him to opt in unless he has a major major injury. Morey has to be assuming within a reasonable degree of certainty that Dragic will opt out, therefore I guarantee he's looking at Dragic as a 1 year, expiring deal. No PO.
The Suns have agreed with but haven't yet signed PJ Tucker who's 29 years old. Curiously, the Suns announced the signing of Tolliver in a press conference today. Tolliver and the Suns agreed on a contract last week. He's also 29 but his contract is only fully guaranteed for 1 year. Tucker's a possible S&T piece? Dragic's 28. Bledsoe & Thomas are 24 & 25. What the hell do we have that culd net us Tucker AND Dragic?? First salaries would be near inpossible to match, unless we did two seperate trades. Jones, Motiejunas, Capela, Johnson, Pelicans 2015 first, Rockets 2017 first for Dragic and Tucker (seperate trade for tucker using TPE) Dragic/Beverley Harden/Daniels Ariza/(MLE) Tucker/Adrian Howard/(BAE)/Dorsey Get r dun Moray. Tucker is 6'6 but he is strong as hell, is a fantastic defender. He could probably hold his own against most 4's. Lol pipe dream random ass trade ideas
Tucker is not a sign-and-trade piece. His signing is simply being held because his cap hold is small and that small cap hold allows Phoenix more flexibility in terms of years and/or free agent signings. He'll eventually sign at the conclusion of Phoenix's off season moves.
I keep hearing this but I thought players who are signed and traded had to be traded alone without any other contracts. Btw Garcia is getting a 2 mill a year deal at max we still wouldn't be able to afford 14 million in salary in return right now. Now I highly doubt Tucker is being involved with anything, but for fun, we could do... Jones, Motiejunas, Powell, Covington + picks for Dragic. Then Lin's TPE, rights to Capela and Johnson for Tucker s&t'd. That would work, highly unlikely though.
