Nope. It was a (conditional) partially guaranteed final year. It became fully guaranteed after Harden made the All-Star team in each of the first two years of his extension. No option/ETO.

No, it was not, Rashmon. Let's talk basketball please. I would never spam the board with posts stirring up interest in myself. You should know that. You should know I hate non-basketball chatter and would never get on here and do that. Let's talk basketball please.
I keep on hearing that but I just can't believe it. Why would both sides be that stupid? There must REALLY be some major strife in that locker room. Really Really stupid move, but hey... I actually think weakening the Clippers that much and having the Mavs over spend for DJ probably helps the Rockets.
Rockets are waiting for all the teams to panic, overpay for marginal talent and use all their cap space, then lure in the under the radar guys for cheap/team friendly contracts when everyone else has no more money to play with anymore. Houston Vultures, more like. Rockets still have eyes on the big prizes but we are going to let things settle down before making out moves.
Lebron and his visiting to teams has made FA so annoying. I don't know if a player did that stuff before him, at least not so publicly. Now every year we will deal with one FA visiting 1/4 of the league to be wined and dined and whispered secret promises.
I wonder if he just meant that LMA was making a decision today, not necessarily committing to the Rockets. On the other hand, Rockets would be ideal for him since we need a stretch four and he wouldn't have to worry about playing center at all. Now, someone did say something about him wanting to move back to Texas due to cancer in the family. Houston's medical center is world class, so perhaps that could factor into the decision.
