That will be awesome if the NHL come to Houston. Then I can go to Penguins games.

The only issue there is that Harden does need someone to take the ball handling roll off his hands more, and I don't mean giving the ball to turnover prone players like Josh Smith.

But yes, I'd be all for Danny Green or Wes Matthews being added to the roster and running a lineup for stretches that had Harden at the point. I just don't think we really have the flexibility to spend assets on that type of move. Still, if they strike out on power forwards, I wouldn't be opposed to adding Sergio with the MLE and then doing a S&T for Green or Matthews.

I agree. I love Danny Green but will he agree to come off the bench? If not, who does he start over? Harden or Ariza?

Oh I agree 100% we need someone to handle the ball but would I be mad at, say, getting a Green or 100% healthy Matthews and bringing Bev back to start at the point? Absolutely not.

One thing that gives me hope is how scattered the opinions are on Aldridge. There are legitimate folks who think it's the Lakers (Ben Bolch of LA Times, CyberX), others who say it's the Spurs (Spears, Broussard) and Woj still thinks Portland is in the mix. That tells me LMA is keeping a pretty tight lid on things. Everyone close to Aldridge seems to have a theory -- i.e. if his priority is winning, it's the Spurs. If it's most guaranteed money, it's Portland. If it's marketing and exposure, Lakers. Etc. But usually, if the player has his mind made up, there's a consensus. The fact that everything is so split makes me think that no one really knows -- and that increases the variability. At the very least, it gives the Rockets an opportunity.

Just add a dude like him huh?

This goes back to what I said. Flexibility to make moves. We can't just get everyone we want, we only have so many bullets to fire. Wing player at a high salary is lower on the list than primary ball handler that can also shoot (PG) and PF that can stretch the floor.

After last years FA season, I'm trying to just focus on our current team, if something swings our way great, but not taking that ride again. Even though it all worked out fine.

Here's a question to answer your question: Why can't he start in the backcourt with Harden and have Bev come off the bench?

What are you losing by starting Green instead of Bev other than Bev being able to dribble the ball past midcourt to give it back to Harden? Green is a more than capable defender and he's a much better shooter than Bev.

Like I said before, the NBA has changed to the point where traditional positions are becoming obsolete. If Curry was a few inches taller could we still consider him a point guard? If Harden was a few inches shorter do we rethink about him being a shooting guard and label him a point guard?

You have a starting 5 of:

    Harden
    Green
    Ariza
    <insert your PF of choice>
    Howard

And that team not only shoots the 3 better but is also a monster on the defensive end.

If we could steal Danny Green I would do it a heartbeat, but it's not that easy. San Antonio has no reason to do a S&T with us for him and we'd have to clear the decks to sign him outright.

Oh no doubt. Again, I'm with you on needing a playmaker first before we spend money on a shooter. I'm willing to gamble on Llull if/when he comes here than to sign Green if that's any indication.

But clearing cap space for a Danny Green shouldn't be as hard as clearing one out for Aldridge I'd think and we'll probably get to keep Ariza vs trading him away.
