A vet min. Or they can send back wright along with ross. Sure it isnt ideal but we get a third star and reload on rookie contracts.
we just fielded probably the worst PG rotation in WCF history and at the time, i didn't think it could get even worse
Again..... I have trouble getting behind the idea that we will trade Ariza in this scenario but not be willing to trade him for a top 10ish pick and large cap room at the same time.
Well I tried to come up with a good roster. I just had that idea. I am starting to get behind just upgrading our pg position and resigning most of our free agents.
Its not hard to understand. This all may happen after the meeting with lma and IF he chooses houston. That offer was on draft day before we have the chance to talk to him and from what cyber said it sent some player also back. If lma doesnt want to sign then we stand pat resign our own and carry on. We are win now mode. Besides its likely that that draft day offer isnt still on the table rigjt now.
Rockets have Harrell and D-Mo who can both play spot minutes at 5. And behind Dwight we already have Capela. Bismack is going to cost too much for a 3rd string 5.
Morey has repeatedly said we will be operating over the cap. So we can go over the cap and resign our guys after signing Lamarcus.
Brew and Smith are unrestricted. Unless they are content with splitting the MLE... Morey has a tough job, wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
We have Brewer's bird rights but not Smiths. Max for Smith without using the MLE is $2.5 which if you include the Detroit money isn't bad at all. MLE should be used for either Llull or McDaniels. You can go over the cap to resign Brewer and both Brewer and Smith should realize that their roles in Houston are ideal at this point in their careers. Neither are starting caliber players with starter usage but both are perfect off the bench run and gun types. I fully expect Llull to sign for the full MLE and Brewer and Smith to be back. Morey will then look at the trade deadline to package Prigs, Papa, and one of Jones or Dmo for an upgrade.
Did Cyber ever give details about that draft night trade that Morey turned down? If so, can someone tell me where to find it?
