There is no an idea team for him. Spurs is too old, LA is too young. Rocket is between, and better than both of them. The rocket is a better team if he wants to have a ring, but we do not have a cap, a trade has to be involved.
Stein actually gets paid to do that job? He acts as if The Rockets only chance would to clear cap space......we can sign and trade easier! I'm sure Portland would rather that than lose LMA for nothing. Also, we wouldn't have to gut the team Ariza, Terrance Jones and Papa are the cornerstones of the trade probably...they alone are 14+ mil. But it's all up to LMA....if he wants to be here, then Morey can easily make that happen.
It would take Ariza/KPAP/Jones/picks/expiring/etc etc.... Morey can make other deals to help shed space...
i imagine that some of our good assets (dmo, capela, ariza, recent draftees) would have to be attached to our trash in order to free up capspace. not sure how much i like completely gutting the team again and starting up from scratch just for LMA.
I doubt Aldridge knows where he wants to go, much less, that he's told his baby's momma. She probably only cares about how much he's going to sign for anyways - not where.
What trash do we have? Again, Dorsey is the only guaranteed contract that isn't a rookie deal outside of Ariza, Harden and Howard.
It will only take Ariza, TJones, and Kpap to get LMA. Lets not overvalue our players. The only one that will hurt leaving is Ariza. As the saying goes to get talent you have to give talent.
Trade Ariza, Jones, and Dekker's rights while waiving everyone else. Dwight - 22.3 Harden - 15.7 Beverley cap hold - 2.7 Motiejunas - 2.2 Capela - 1.2 Johnson - .5 6 cap holds - 3 47.6 million in salary 20 million in cap space Beverley/Terry Harden/Johnson room exception (Dunleavy?) LMA/DMo/Harris Dwight/Capela This seems like the simplest solution. I actually think the Rockets could keep Dekker and still have the needed space for a max offer or near max offer to Aldridge, if they want. It's deep at the bigs positions and very shallow on the wing. Of course, the Rockets front office has had no issue finding depth.
Nice. Thanx. But more specifically trade ariza and jones where? And take back from the trade what? It doesnt have to be full max but near max too. I am certain that he will sign the 1+1 anyway.

The Rockets would have to trade approximately $13.9 million in salary in order to sign LMA to a first year deal of $18.9 million. In doing so, the Rockets will have to renounce the cap holds of Patrick Beverley, Josh Smith, Jason Terry, and KJ McDaniels. Trevor Ariza + Kostas + Joey Dorsey = $14,006,115 Trevor Ariza + TJones + Prigioni + Nick Johnson + Joey Dorsey = $14,277,611 It is possible.
Thing is if 4 years 80 million is the max we can offer to Aldridge, then we don't have to clear 20 million since there is salary raises, I think the number is around 18 million... But I don't see why we wouldn't be doing a S&T.
need to attach a treat to that pile in order to get takers….probably dekker….also need to renounce our FA's
Every single report does not have the Rockets in the hunt for LMA. I cannot believe that New York and Atlanta is a possible place for LMA over the Rockets. I hope we can swoop in and get LMA.
Huh? Pap's salary is completely unguaranteed, and you're not going to need to attach a "treat" to Ariza and Jones. Ariza making under $7 million per year on a declining scale is a flat-out steal, especially given the new cap. This is not Jeremy Lin being due a $15-million payout.
