You mean the LOF on the board. ;)

Go have your visits, it's fine.

But! ... But this is the first time we're hearing they might get a sit down, let alone him actually being interested!

Part of that is they have no cap space to sign him. But what if he's actually not interested, as unfathomable as that may be? He may not be interested in Houston.

Rockets needed a point guard. Goran Dragic, available the deadline, perfect fit. Other than not giving his player option, thought he and the team ended on good terms.

Wait, what?! WHAT?! He doesn't want to come to Houston?! WHAT?! Are you kidding me!? [And then we proceeded to trash him. Good riddance! We didn't want you anyways! Have fun in mediocre loserville!]

We've never had a cap increase before like we're fixing to have in 2016. That's why the odds are LaMarcus and Love are going to visit with many teams to determine what their options are going forward.

The best case scenario for both players (and other max free agents) if they want to switch teams is to re-sign 1+1 year deals with their current teams and then force trades to the teams of their choice after Dec. 15th. Don't be surprised if multiple teams make all sorts of trades and free agent signings that don't really make a lot of sense. They could very well be stacking assets to trade for their man after December 15th. Each team that is a possible target for a max level free agent is going to know that the home team wants in trade and they are going to attempt to stockpile assets to make those trades.

This is exactly why you keep hearing and reading verbage from Morey about re-signing our own players and why we were the team to spend a little bit extra to acquire players like Brewer in trade last season.

    S&T can't be !+1 contract, 2+1 at least

Forget Love, and this makes me just want to give up on LMA. This feels different from last year when the media had us at least somewhat frontrunners to sign big FA.

I thought the rockets already had a sit down with LMA scheduled?

I do like the Daryl is only looking for stretch bigs. If we can get a 4 that can really shoot the ball (even from midrange) then it will open up the floor for Harden so much.

I was not talking about us giving him 1+1 contract. I referring to him sign somewhere else for 1+1 and hit free agency next year. Then we go after him next offseason when the cap hits and we might have cap room.

This is a typical approach from Morey.

It would be such a huge lift to the offense if the PF could shoot. It's no coincidence that in games where DMo and Josh Smith were hitting 3s we looked unbeatable.

    Wait, what?

The fact that it "feels different" than last year -- when the Rockets struck out in epic fashion -- makes you want to give up? If anything, wouldn't it being different from last year be a good thing?

Why don't some of you go back to June 2013 and see how many national media types listed the Warriors as a serious suitor for Dwight? You won't find many. Until the visits start and there's actual substance to report, the majority of national writers simply go down the lists of teams with cap space. Not a whole lot more to it than that, at this point.

Rox have a planned layout of how to get to that max #. It will be shared with LA.

I agree with people saying it is a long shot, but because of the fact that we need an SnT, for some reason I get these D12 vibes coming from LMA where it is all about winning, I don´t think he cares about the 1+1 deal and he doesn´t care about being the top dog.

Having said all of that we all know just how much agents influence guys so you never know really, what I am 100% sure is that we MUST go after him regardless of how minuscule of a chance we have at him, he is worth it as a player to take those risks.

It´s funny how people still talk about Lowry, the guy that preferred to stay in a losing franchise instead of waiting and respect the fact that we had a chance to talk to a superstar player. He thought he was the bigger man by signing, and now he is a star player in a weak franchise for multiple years, while we are winning games and playing important ones while he sits at home, we got the best out of it.

As I mentioned above, last year they had cap space. They traded away Lin & Asik. This year, no significant cap space for a premier free agent. They have to make room to bring in a Love or Aldridge.

If they want a stretch four, go get Ryan Anderson or Channing Frye.

Could have/should have asked for Anderson in the Asik trade last year.

And what use does Orlando have for Channing Frye?

Half of you won't want Frye because he takes up cap space for a 2016 run at Durant. Anderson is a FA after the 2015/16 season.

"Worst" case scenario, you got some semblance of a stretch four on your roster in Motiejunas for pennies. But if they're looking for another PF then...

Do you mean getting to that max # without a S&T? If Rockets can legitimately offer him both the S&T and 1+1 possibilities, they might have a real chance.

Ok, I will not lose hope until after this week and then see where the Rockets are in the chase for LMA. As stated before if LMA is wanting a 1+1 deal. It would actually make sense for the Rockets to wait until next year when LMA hits free agency again. In that case the cap will be higher and the Rockets will have a better cap situation.

That is awesome to know that the Rockets have a plan to get LMA here.
