SO Cyber says : Aldridge to SA, Love to LA, DJ to DAL Free agents highly likely to be resigned or matched by current team : Gasol, Green, Butler, Milsap, Leonard, Knight, Jackson, Thompson What does this leave for the Rockets in free agency for S&T? Dragic? He obviously made it clear he's not interested in Houston. Maybe a S&T for Ellis? Rondo? T.Harris? Or D.West? There's not much else that fits so great on the market for the Rockets, guess it's time to focus on trade possibility's like Lawson, IT, Bledsoe, Lowry etc.
Except - - in that scenario Tyson Chandler seemingly/likely/might get SnT'd back to Clipville, slightly improving Mavs/slightly hurting Clips but giving them a TE of perhaps $4-5m.
Does anyone think DG is an option anywhere (except a return to W's-ville? Jeanie can say that with her TW cable deal and massive ticket demand.
If Papa and Prigs aren't used to trade for a star, then who should we go after with their contracts? Here's my short list: Danilo Gallinari Luol Deng OJ Mayo Brandon Jennings Ryan Anderson All are paid $8+ million and their contracts expire in 2016. Of these, I see OJ as the most likely. The Bucks have already made a cap clearing trade (Ilyasova) and OJ is their largest remaining contract. As a player, OJ is decent around rim and from 3, but takes too many mid-range shots. He's great from the right baseline.....57%. If we can rehab his shot selection like we did for Josh Smith, he'd be a great backup for Harden with a contract we can use at the deadline.
exactly and people get way too hung up on the "per 36" thing..........fact is he didn't play 36 minutes a game and he won't average those numbers some people here over rate some of our players something crazy
very disappointed? why? If we can get some big fish from free agents, we should thank the Gods; if we can't get anyone, it's OK, Morey still can do something before trade deadline
Why would we be disappointed? We made it to the freaking Western Conference Finals.... I realize some of that was luck but we also were missing some key players. My point is we don't HAVE to add anyone to be a contender this season. It would obviously help but NBA players aren't pokemon... you cant catch em all..
Meh, it would be nice to finally cash in on our "assets" and "flexibility" before the season though. Don't want to go another season holding out on current talent for the next free agency or next deadline. Howard's (star), and Ariza's (3rd best player) are both going into their 12th seasons and turning 30. Brewer and Smith are both turning 30 as well (if we re-sign them). Harden has been blessed with good health, but you never know when that might turn. Our time is now, and as a fan I hate knowing that have the assets to improve our team NOW, but are waiting for something later. That all last season was, and who knows how far we could've gone if we Morey and crew would of went all out on the roster.
I was referring to LMA. I would rather make major moves in the offseason, so the new players can gel with the old players.
You think a lineup of: Bev/terry Harden/Brewer Ariza/Brewer Smith/DMo/TJones Howard/Capela Can win a championship?
You think a lineup of: Bev/Prigioni Harden/Brewer Ariza/Brewer Smith/TJones Howard/Capela Can make it to the Western Conference Finals? (i.e "Be a contender")
I know Smith is not a starter I made a mistake. I should have put in the PF position: DMO/Smith/TJones. I am going to figure though that TJones is gone if we resign Smith.
