On the fact that the Rockets are in Texas and wants to be near his kid who lives near San Antonio. I know that in the case of his kid he should just go to the Spurs, but I believe that the Rockets have a better chance at contending longer than the Spurs.
Yeah, I read the article and saw that I was wrong. I thought it was just a random twitter by Ken Berger.
Yes sir. Yes sir. I would love Bledsoe next to Harden. His defense is overrated, but not too bad. He definitely has the tools to be a top defender in this league. You know the offense and athleticism he brings. I love the idea of being able to use the MLE to retain our own guys because we filled the PG spot through trades. Part of me is curious to see Llull in action, but most of me wants a sure thing with NBA experience. (And I really want to keep Smith, but I would try and break it up and keep KJ as well first)
I do not want to spread bad things on the forum. Thanks for the good words. I read the article and thought darn I just posted something wrong. I need to go back and say I was wrong.
Morey is a guy that tries everything but plans on them not working. Sure, it may be 99% chance that nothing happens, but he'll make sure to chase that 1%. Most of the time it turns out to be wasted energy. Then when that 1% hits we get James Harden.
I hope that is what is going on. If he really has the impression that we can't improve the roster with better players this offseason that will be a kill joy to us all.
Did Lamarcus tell you any of this? Or you're assuming this he wants to be near his kids. Did you assume that he probably also wants the most money possible to increase the value of life for said kid?
No, to the first question. Yes, to the second question. Who would not want to have the most money help their kids future. Then where do you think LMA is going?
So when you said LMA is a real possibility, you just meant that it could happen. That the Rockets have a chance, as the 76ers and the Utah Jazz also have a chance. I get that you would like to see Aldridge play here but don't get your hopes up because the Rockets are meeting with him. The Rockets met with Bosh, Carmelo, and even Lebron's agents when they were free agents.
Aldridge is different from Melo, Bosh, and LeBron. It just makes sense if he leaves to come here to play. Yes, when I said that the Rockets had a real possibility to get LMA as speaking as a good chance, not an insider. The Rockets have a better shot than the 76ers and Jazz. I am not going to trash the streets of Houston if LMA does not come here I have more important things to worry about. I am just going to see what LMA does the next couple of weeks and go with it.
That interview means nothing. Make no mistake Morey or someone on his staff has contacted LMA or his agent. And make no mistake that he cannot leak that info or the chances anything happening with the Rockets aquiring LMA. The fact is even if LMA wants to come here and the Rockets want him to neither can make that happen without the help of Portland. And that price becomes much higher if the have any indication that LMA is set on playing with the Rockets. So would you expect Morey to say anything other then the chances are unlikely. And in actuality the chances lower that we don't sign LMA than we do. But if Morey could speak freely I think he would say something along the lines, "We are going after LMA hard and will do everything withing reason to acquire him". But of course if that's true he can't say that right now.
I hope you are right that the interview means nothing. I want LMA to wear Rocket Red this coming season.
Portland will test free agency. Go after kanter love and monroe. How much capspace they got? They might not be that interested in a s+t if they hear good things in their visits july1st. Except if we throw them a big bone.
How do you know that Portland will test free agency if LMA leaves? There is no way they will attract good players in to a rebuilding team.
If LMA wants to come back to Texas, there is a better chance he signs with the Spurs or Mavs, than he signs with the Rockets. Those teams have 20-30 million dollars more free money than Houston. Basically, magic would have to happen for the Rockets to sign LMA…while Dallas and SA can sign him with very little effort. Lets assume that the only 3 teams in the running are Texas teams. Here would be my percentages: SA - 80% Dallas - 15% Houston - 5% So yes, we have a chance….but I would never bet on it.
